I think Phoenix will be a bigger Grail.

Both are amazing, but the Phoenix has the extra edge since its much more of a bigger, brighter design

Phoenix will b more insane? :horror. XM on a role

I'm inclined to agree! However, each is a grail in their own right and Phoenix won't top Mags by much. And I wouldn't be surprised if others say vice versa ...Mags topping Phoenix, but not by much. They are both great ...and I'll have both. :yess:

Does this surpass the Doom PF EX?

I've owned Doom, and now I have Mags. I really liked Doom...it's considered a grail for good reason.

But, I like Mags better primarily for one reason. Doom, for me, was more about the throne, whereas Mags is more about Mags. I spend most of my time looking at Magneto rather than the throne, and it was vice versa for Doom.

Iv never owned Doom but he's a piece id like to add to my collection some day. Mags is my favorite piece, by far, at the moment. I have a few other XM pieces on PO which should be on par with Mags (Phoenix specifically).

Doom EX = Mag in terms of value, secondary market, currently?

For the price he's going for, I'd rather much go for other sideshow statues such as the xmen dios (cyclops / colussus specifically) or even the spiderman / hulk dio. The Doom statue is nice but there are plenty of nicer statues out there with characters I'm more a fan of, imo.

I'm going crazy thinking about this thing is it really worth the 3k guys? I have a lot of other stuff pending but can cancel stuff out to splurge on this piece... Just don't want to regret it

Personally, I'd wait for the entire production run to ship, and see if/how the price levels out. 3k is a lot of dough, so you better be sure you want it bad.

Honestly, XM studios had completely ruined SS pfs for me . I really don't collect statues, but I want this guy so bad .

good tip.
right now we're seeing quite a few people who receive it, say they love it, and a week later put it on sale for a rediculous price.

This.
There are far less XM pieces on sale than what people like to make it seem, even considering their low ES.
But I can't see Magneto growing much further. Then again, there are a couple of statues I thought wouldn't have grown further, and then they have.
That said, it's odd to ask if it really worths 3k... it's very subjective.

I've not seen many for sale. Less than 10 I'd guess. Over half are shipped out now.

Most of the ones on sale are coming from Singapore. I've only seen three from the US on ebay. One of those three is currently bidding $2225 with 4 days left. I bet it goes to $3000 plus the $95 shipping.

Three sold on SF B/S/T section from someone in Canada for $2500, $2500 and $2800.

I'm not sure how other collectors can tell you whether or not it's worth spending your money on a specific item...

We don't know all the important factors that go into making a decision like this....for example...we don't know the specifics behind your financial condition. At the end of the day, it's a decision that nobody but you is really qualified to make.

This. Personally I don't think no statue is worth 3K but if I could afford it and I loved the character and statue that much I would pay it but most of the time it's better to focus on what you have coming rather than what your missed out on

**** for 5k mine would be for sale lol..and I love my damn mags statue..wouldnt sell it for 3k..but at 5k i feel like i could spent 2.5 and get it again somehow and then keep the spare 2.5..but yea it is tough if you actually love the character to flip the perfect statue for that character lol…its tough..those that do i feel aren't that connected to the character or really needed the dough..

Still waiting to get the word that mine is ready to ship (hopefully this week). It's the first of five XM's that I've already pre-ordered so looking forward to having it join the collection.

lol, no, just a basement with 3 large rooms. I rotate my display, that is the only way I can do it. But, my wife did let me put all of my batman b&w statues (I have almost all of them) in my son's room...so precedence has been set! I should also clarify that I purchase statues of varying scales (not all are 1/4).

and sorry for derailing this thread!
Ah, okay that explains it - the ole rotating display trickery! The basement man cave for the win! :rock

Tbh I'd much rather read about your display room then the to and fro about this statue being worth/not worth 'X' dollars. ;)
