The price for this shooting up right now as the hype train, and it is well deserved mind you, pushes it. It will be interesting to see if the price holds that high in say a year. Now I am not saying it will come down to retail, buti think he is out pacing Doom right now, and I am not sure if that will continue once more and more XM pieces come out.

With Doom. For cheaper price, you can get the 1:2 LSF.

I think the more XM pieces that come out the higher it will climb... The more people start to collect XM, the bigger the collector pool will be. Plus you have one of there lowest ES on it. The added custom pieces being made for it. And as the XM:X-men line continues to go ppl will need Mags to fill out the collection.
I dont see it going for that much higher since its already at a crazy price... but considering all those facts I dont see it coming down at all either.

You guys could both be right. I have seen grails come down a little bit in the past, but those are usually quick sales and not the norm.

The one I saw most certainly was. The paint app and sculpt are some of the best I have seen.

I had somebody from Singapore offering me 2700 for the statue. At this price I am starting to think about other options such as Prime 1 Studio, ECC and Chronicle which I think has greater value.

Shoot---the 3D printer is just the tip of the ice berg. Does anyone know how much Disney/Marvel want up front & percentage for royalties for collectibles? A hot property like Marvel must be cost some serious $$$$$

3D printing is widely used by more or less any company out there at this point. It's been like this for a while.

I just sold my extra Magneto for asking price. It was on Ebay for 1 day and it was gone. Mind you, I am in Europe and the guy picked up the statue himself yesterday. Let's say he he was ecstatic, although he paid a big price. He didn't have any regrets. This the point once you see the statue in the flesh, you will understand the hype. I can't see this one coming down in price a lot, it really is a masterpiece.

Are they going to be produced with the same paint application XM used? I read somewhere that XM used a new method on the head portraits.

I'm right there with you. Never cared for alternative reality storylines. I do think the Jim Lee head looks great but I'm very happy with the one we received with the statue. Besides, I have the Koto Mags for my Jim Lee fix and it looks AWESOME.
