it looked great on the statue itself before, so nothing has changed. That will look great painted up

I hope so. I am just really concerned at the speed which they are trying to push things. They are heading down a dangerous path imo. It smells of exactly how SS had that bad patch with statues trying to push them out too fast.

I'm not quite sure what your talking about. XM has yet to put out a bad product. Not everything they do is a home run, but they haven't put out a sloppy piece before and I don't see any comparison with SS.

i think you miss my point completely. I said I was worried. I didn't say it would happen, but it is a concern.

No they haven't been sloppy on a piece, but they certainly haven't been applying a stellar paint app lately. Its been good, but not outstanding. I am referring to pieces like Phoenix and Thanos (gasp!!). I have seen Phoenix and I own Thanos. Whilst they are good pieces, there is a clear lack of detail in the shading and application that seems to be there in earlier pieces. This is just my opinion of coarse and feel free to disagree as you wish.

Absolutely psyched for this statue. Can't wait for them to release more pictures.

If it's even close to the concept art, & it will be & beyond, this is a masterpiece, period. Nay sayers(?), get your eyes checked.

I'm kinda baffled when people comment how an XM piece came out without this or that detail... I mean, their pieces tend to come out pretty much like the prototype. Latest example is people complaining about lack of textures on Black Bolt's face, but that's how it was when it went on preorder. And skin textures became a thing after BB's preorder anyway, but people seem to have very short and selective memory.

I guess people just want to get their money's worth, especially having paid this much for a statue. XM takes user feedback into account right? So skin textures could and should have been brought up imo. You don't pay close to 1k only to say, oh this could've been done better, that paint app was lacking etc. For that kind of money, people expect much better. I know I would.

I haven't gotten mine in person yet, but if this one is anything like the prototype, which as you said it tends to come out as, then I don't really see much of a problem here.

Fact is that face textures were not a thing back then. People don't know what they want until you slap it in their face, I'm 100% for skin pores and texturing but people needed tbe Prime1 Batman pics to see how good they look on a male figure, and Red Sonja to see how good they look on a female. The standard back then was sculpting pores on males for the beard and hair alone, Superman, to mention one, is perfectly smooth. And for a lot of people is perfect. There's no incentive for a company to make something different. Gentle Giant used then on females well ahead of time and some people even said it made them look old, being used to female superheroines sculpted like teenagers with perfectly smooth skin.
