So far aulfans pix make him look better than any I have seen!

Way to go MF.

Yah and even then... everyone's pics had the same thing bothering me: the eyes. There's just something unnecessarily hypnotic about them.

Nice pictures as always Maulfan.....

Again, despite the negativity thrown around I'm anxious to get this one--- still waiting for Lazenby Legacy Bond so that they can be sent together to save on shipping to the Great White North.

Thanks guys, it's just a matter of using lighting that follows the forms in ways that highlight the features, same principles as portrait photography apply to these toys. Certain lighting just doesn't favor facial forms and some setups will favor one face and do another injustice. I'm happy with the figure, my only issue at the momen is I wish the bottom of his hair in the back was recessed a little like Anakin's so the jacket collar could go under the hair like his hair was flowing over the jacket like it would.

I would say it's that these eyes are a pure white with pupils, the wash that is usually on Sideshow eyes is missing, it's a bit of an extreme away from the usual reddish whites, the ideal shade lies somewhere between these and the red wash eyes.

Thanks Josh. Your camera should be built for an attachable flash, they're like $250-$300 for a good one, but if you're serious enough about photography it's worthwhile to have. I actually bought some new flash equipment to shoot a wedding in the fall which should arrive tomorrow, so I'll be practicing with it on my toys :)

I may snag that this summer actually. I like how my stuff looks but like anything I do I want it to be better.

It's not cheap, but if you love shooting photos, it's very empowering the more and more control you have to ultimately get the right shot. And shooting these figures will actually develop your skills to shoot real people too, the principles are the same, it's just the lens zoom and things like that which differe due to scale differences.

Well, with doing these shots for Sandtroopers as far as reviews and covering shows like SDCC. I want things to look nice and maybe someday I'll get to shoot something for SS.

Set higher sights, SI Swimsuit Issue ;) haha. Shooting for SSC would be great, any creative job with SSC would be great to have.

I'd like to do that too. :) Yeah, any creative job with SS would be sweet especially if you're a SSF like us.

I'm a photo freak, sci-fi freak, Star Wars super-freak, graphic arts freak, and Sideshow freak, a job with Sideshow would satisfy every one of my abnormalities :) I'm grateful enough to have done the wallpapers for them, it's a small thing to the world, but for me, I got to do something for a company that's a big player in the Star Wars world, that's about as close to a dream come true as I'll ever get.

I understand. I've gotten quoted in the newsletter and been in a couple of the SDCC videos that was really very cool for me.

So that's why your head is so big. :lol

Dave you are a bully. You have nothing positive to say. You ruin other peoples good times and should really search yourself for the reasons for your attitude. It may be deep in your childhood. Seek some help. Call Dr Phil... or Dr Kieth... Maybe the Reverand Schnoor is more your style.

Nice pics.

Great pics Maulfan... again you really do a great job of capturing the 3D feel of the figures in 2D picture.

I've been wondering if I could confirm my suspicions about DecDave being the opposite of Josh when it comes to figures... but yet somehow just as stubborn.

I think I found my answer:
