Y'know, as good as Les's repaint is, I still don't think it's as dead-on as HT's original proto:

Brinn, no worries, and I'd say the sculpt is exactly the same, the Proto eyes are very blue, the final production eye paint makes them seem almost black, which throws it off a bit.

Not a jab dude. Wholehearted agreement. People can call these 12" SSC SW figs subpar all they want but bottom line is they are the coolest 1/6 representation of one of the greatest cinematic sagas to date. I'm more than happy SSC has taken on the license and the pickyness of alot of the SW fans out there.

Looks puffy to me. I took a dremel to mine and Customikey is repainting it as we speak. Can't wait to see how much he improves that bloated sculpt.

Yikes, he looks like a Bratz doll in that one... photoshop doesn't always get the job done

If you could make the iris just a smidge smaller I think you'd get the right effect.

Well there's no effect to go for, if the eyes were painted exactly like the proto, that's about what we'd get.

No labeling, just my dry sense of humor getting me in trouble again.

I like your photo shop Luke. The blue is spot on. Galactiboy's right though, if his iris or really his whole eye too were a little smaller I bet the look of the figure would greatly improve. He would have a more life like appearance just like Jedi Luke.

I'm not seeing him either...

Jedi Luke, with all of his bobble-headness and surprised expression still looks more like Hamill to me than this one. Proto looks completely different from the production piece, to me, that is.

I received Luke today. For the first time since Sideshow stared this line I'm truly underwhelmed. How is it that the sculpt on Maul was perfect, yet we end up with this? It is disappointing.

I don't know. The only thing I am really dissapointed in was how the eyes were painted. They really screwed that up (blue and brown eyes?). Other than that though, I really like this figure. I would say I like it more and more actually.

Normally I'm not too bothered by differences in proto and production pieces. But this time it really does. His eyes look wrong and his features looks soft. Maybe it's just the paint apps, but he looks very doll-like compared to the proto pics.

I still need to play around with him...maybe he'll grow on me...
