Isn't Ancient Eqyptian monotheism even older than Judaism? I think I heard that it was the oldest.

Not sure if the pyramids are from that era or the polytheist days.

Well they are ya big goof. :D

Hinduism is not monotheistic. The basic premise, as per my understanding, is established on the idea of the Holy Trinity: Brahma (The Creator), Vishnu (The Preserver), and Shiva (The Destroyer). "Trinity in Hinduism tries to view a very critical aspect of the universe and how it works. Starting from the basic tenet that every beginning has an end, every material thing in this world goes through a basic life cycle of creation, existence and destruction." For further reading. However, there are other views too. Thougt I'd share.

Funny that we are talking about religion in the You can't make this $#*! up thread. :)

Hinduism is monotheist?

Neither is ancient Egyptian religion. :dunno

Akhenaten tried to instill it in Egypt during his short reign, but it never took and he was all but erased from existence afterward (ironic that his wife would be remembered more than he). :lol

That's all I was talking about. Amon, right?

Just making note of the earliest known monotheistic belief. :wave

Minoan religion had roots as far back as Hinduism, but no one has ever been cool enough to practice it.

Unfortunately, ****ies were the downfall of Minoan religion. The rest of the world was much more interested in worshipping pen/ses.
