Isn't there a Shinto fertility festival where the patrons tote around the streets a big P-word made of wood?

That's all I was talking about. Amon, right?

Just making note of the earliest known monotheistic belief. :wave

Minoan religion had roots as far back as Hinduism, but no one has ever been cool enough to practice it.

Coming in at around 6th century BC, Zoroastrianism has Akhenaton's religion of light beat by over 4 centuries. :lol

<<< Practicing Minoan :lecture

Psssst. If you were gonna play out the Minoan thingy, you should've said you were Atlantian and worshiped Bulls. :wink1:

Now I know who to blame.

Also happy to learn that Egypt was a failure at monotheism. Good for them. I always thought they were dense for polytheists, but credit where it's due.

Also, a monotheistic culture would have been a pain in the ass when the Greek influence arrived.

Yeah, :lol, Akhenaton was considered a heretic during his reign. Within a decade or so after his death, they'd completely obliterated any and all monuments made to him even hiding the engraved stones inside other structures. Some even believe that the reason Tutankhamen was murdered was because they feared he'd return Egypt to his father's worship of Aten. :lol

Huh? :lol

No, I thought things might have been much more interesting if they had skipped the Dark and Middle Ages completely. Rome blew that one like a whore at confession.

Nah, that was caused by environmental means. Rome wouldn't have been able to stop it.

Rome was long gone by the time it got cold.

Did you hear about the meteor that they figured out destroyed the Cities of the Plain? It hit somewhere in the Himalayas and the plume of burning rock rained down on the east bank of the Dead Sea, scorching Sodom and Gomorrah off the face of the Earth.

It's entirely possible. It'd fit with the biblical account of "fire and brimstone."

If you want to know why there are so many ***** boys these days........just check out the cover of the new Time magazine.

I'll never understand the moms that breastfeed their kids until they get boners. :cuckoo:

I'm wondering how long it will be at my school (ages 3-6) before a mother insists on pulling her kid out of class to breast feed them.

The worst one I saw was on TLC or one of those channels where a mother was still feeding her son when he was big enough for him to lay across her lap and down a park bench. :lol
