I've only just seen this and my jaw dropped.
It is the original ending to first blood which they test screened and found the audiences found it too depressing and redone it as the version we know now.
I would have hated this ending if I had of seen it originally in the film.

Although I was sick about the ending when I first watched it. I have really come to terms with it. I had to really think about it for days, but I love the ending now.
