So I've started to pick up some horror on blu last few days since there on sale for the month at Best Buy for $10, as well as Walmart. Last night I've picked up Child's Play on BD. I been watching it and I just paused it towards the end where the moms threw Chucky in the fire place. Thanks to a clearer picture, you can see part of the arm of whomever is controlling Chucking with a black blanket over it. As he shakes Chucky from side to side, it's obvious. So up to that point I was really into the movie again, then I just started laughing. This was probably a pointless post, but I just needed to share this. I guess BD has it's ups and downs when it comes to old horror flicks

I went to moviestop and they have a buy 2 used get 1 free and loaded up on a bunch of horror films for super cheap. Ended up spending about $35 and walked out with 11 movies.

Yeah i actually try not to get my horror on blu ray, I just dont really see the point in it. Im not saying I dont have any myself, caues I do have a few horror blu rays, but really if I can get teh dvd cheaper I will just get the regular version. I save my blu ray spending for sci-fi and action movies more or less.

Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War, is such an awesome movie. A great story and just straight awesome. I wouldnt mind having this one also. Plus you dont get many movies based around the Korean War.

I have no black and white's on blu yet. Are they really that much better than standard DVDs?

I'm hoping they come out with a Bogie Box! :)

I haven't watched either it or Kong yet, but film inherently has more resolution than you are able to see via TV or DVD, so theoretically, they should be better. I'll let you know as soon as I watch one.

Have you watched the Exorcist yet? I really want to pick this one up but would love feedback on the picture quality.

I watched the theatrical version on Friday night and was stunned at how good the picture looked! So fresh and vibrant! Hasn't looked this good since I originally saw it in the theater at 14! William Friedkin was involved with the BD production if you didn't know...

Perfect! Thanks for the reply. I will pick this up tomorrow.

I don't think you'll regret it. I plan on watching the director's cut version sometime this week as well.

One thing to note... I believe all the extras and such are from the 25th Ann. edition and the Director's Extended edition with nothing new... but I haven't watched them all yet so I could be wrong.

EDIT: Never mind... there is new content...

Was the 2000 directors cut the one they re-released in theatres? I went with my buddies (Huge treat) to see the updated version in theatres. I think they added some cgi and what not ............ some extra visuals. I can't wait to pick this one up.
