You know how there are theories that say that early works of Disney are racist and whatnot?
Well, I think this film isn't quite without something controversial either, namely: Making fun of disabled people!

And by that I mean Dopey of course. I mean, he's clearly not as normal as the other dwarves...

- He has no hair
- He has no beard
- He can't talk
- He has his tongue hanging out for half of the film or so

He's basically a Dwarf with down syndrome.

And yet, instead of being understanding and helpful to him... most dwarves treat him like garbage, slap him on the head when he plays with diamonds in his eyes, and stuff like that.

It's sad...

Well even though they aren't for me those two "Disney Classics" aren't gay it's all the ones you own apart from those two.

Looks like i might have one after all. The place i buy movies from, Axel Music, just shipped the one i ordered Wendsday night. If it's shipped so fast, they had it in stock and it might be the 2-disc.

Awesome man! I just got back from the 3 Best Buys near me and all of them only have the 1 disc version now. I had no idea the 2 disc would be so limited. I mean, it just came out a few weeks ago!!

Disney, meh. You look like a flannel shirt lumberjack if that's all you have. You should see how many Mattel "Barbie starring in..." movies I've purchased since my girls were born. I have a whole section on my DVD/Blu shelves that's all pink and purple glittered Fairytopia, Mermaidia, etc...

Fortunately the girls are starting to like Pixar and Miyazaki films more. They're big fans of Kiki's, Totora, and Ponyo. I held back Howl's Moving Castle until recently thinking it was too old for them, but now it's one of their favorites. I'm going to rewatch Nausicaä soon and figure out if they can watch that one. Princess Mononoke is still too violent. Maybe when they're 9 or 10.

I thought about it a while ago after seeing Snow White a week earlier

The part I always find hysterical in Snow White is at the end. The Old Hag walks out of her cabin and the dwarfs chase her off a cliff. They don't look inside the cabin to find Snow White until after the fact. For all they know an old woman was having tea as a guest and they saw her leaving. Yet they chase her to her death.

It makes me think their long term plans for Snow White would have eventually fit into an episode of Dexter.

Not knowing that this new queen was indeed her stepdaughter, she arrives at the wedding, and her heart fills with the deepest of dread when she realizes the truth.
