Robinson Crusoe on Mars arrived today. Maybe I can find time to watch it tomorrow, but it seems like it would be best viewed late at night for some reason.

I think so far the only Criterion i probably won't watch is Salo. That sh@t sounds a bit too weird for my taste. And after watching Walkabout, i don't think i will watch it again. All that animal killing put me off I might get that By Brakage set but i doubt it's something for me. But Axel Music got it on their Reward Points list and i'm close to having enough points so i can get it for free. I don't feel like paying $65-70 for it

I didnt even know they did a Criterion of Salo...yeah that movie is messed up. I think the guy who made it was murdered if I remember correctly that movie caused so much controversy. It really isnt even worth the watch. I remember a buddy of mine had it on dvd when it was first released and it was so in demand that he ended up selling it for $300 on the bay. Its definetly just a shock type film really crappy movie overall.

Haven seen A Serbian film yet, but Im on the hunt for it. From what I hear that movie is a one time watch and you'll be scarred forever...that means I gotta watch it. I read that when it screened at a few festivals people were leaving the theater.

Criterion's first DVD release went OOP i think and people charged crazy money for it. So Criterion re-released it a few years later. No mention of the Blu-Ray yet and i don't care

At first i thought it A Serbian Film would be something i would check out but when i read about one particular scene, i changed my mind right then and there. No way in hell i'm gon' watch something like that

Usually I try to find those movies that people refer to as "disturbing" and what not, but yeah if thats whats in it no thanks. I dont know what its about, but I just heard its crazy. So if thats the case I'll pass on that.

edit * Ok I went to IMDB and read a few discussions on this movie and well it sounds pretty messed up. From also reading what more of the "hardcore" people are saying that its way over rated. Which this doesnt surprise me with these type of "shock" films.

Yeah reading some of the stuff from that movie is pretty crazy. Im still curious about it, but not going to go out of my way to watch crap like that. Ok Im done with that crap. I dont want to derail the awesomeness of this thread. Back to peoples dvds/blus

I picked up the double pack of blus Defiance/Enemy at the Gates at best buy. I love Enemy at the Gates.

How old is your player? If it's an older gen player that may be your issue.

i got it at the end of 09, it's a samsung but not sure on the specific model.

Have you ever updated your firmware? Some newer Blu-ray releases need firmware updates to play them.

That's why I hate Blu-rays.

Have you ever updated your firmware? Some newer Blu-ray releases need firmware updates to play them.

That's why I hate Blu-rays.

You can also download updates and burn them to a CD. That's how I do mine.
