Hey Iron, is the UK Metropolis blu-ray region free? As for the subtitle cards, so they are German with english translations? I've been putting off getting this, but now you have me intrigued.

No Kino and MOC made a deal that they would be Region Locked.

And yep, original German subtitle cards with English translation. I was about to watch the Kino release a couple weeks ago when i thought i'd check the review to see what the difference was. Then i decided to watch something else and order this one too

My UK Alien Blu Ray boxed set arrived yesterday. I ordered it from AmazonUK for $32 shipped, and have watched the first two movies so far. INCREDIBLE!!! Not sure if I'll watch the last two because I hate them in comparison to the first two movies.

Just caved myself. Couldn't pass up the awesome price, especially considering it's $40 cheaper than in the US!

My understanding is that the extras are region free (I believe they are blu-ray discs as well), but I too would like to hear from someone who actually owns the set. Or actually... they better be, or I'm returning the set!

Yeah, that's a decent deal for this set.

You should. It's a dang good series. The middle seasons were meh, but the bookends were great.

I felt the entire series was captivating, and it held my attention for the entire summer of viewing two years ago. I may watch it again sometime. And, I've been looking for a series to offer me the same entertainment for quite some time, to no avail.

I really enjoyed it. My wife liked it up until the last 5 minutes....she didn't like the ending.
