They were originally gonna call them Blu-Roys but then I told them to ^^^^ off so now its just Blu-Rays.

But in all seriousness, it's called Blu-ray since the laser that reads the disc is blue, instead of red. Red-ray wouldn't have really worked anyway...

Blu Ray = A combination of "Blue" (blue-violet laser) and "Ray" (optical ray).
