It's funny, my wife really wanted to watch Sleepy Hollow the other night but we didn't have the blu ray, so for the first time I agreed to watch it on Prime streaming. I ended up stopping it 5 minutes in because I couldn't bear knowing that better PQ/AQ was available. Blu bought and watched a few days later. :) I'm watching a 60" Samsung plasma at a little less than 10 ft viewing distance, soon to be 100".

Agreed. I have a 120" and for things I care to watch, streaming does not cut it.
Coupled with the audio ... :gah:

Where's the LIKE button lol. And now with ATMOS, there's NO way I'm not watching my Blu's!!

The picture quality of Netflix via my Oppo blu ray player is probably just as good as a blu ray disc. The main thing about blu ray that's better is the lossless audio, and I'll admit even that might be an imperceptible difference. I mainly like discs because sometimes the internet slows down and Netflix gets all pixelated. That's ruins a movie for me.

With my internet connection, I can't do streaming at all. I've tried it a couple of times and unless I use SD, forget it.

Pffft! 120", do you have to squint to see that? I built my house around an aircraft hanger and had the back wall converted to a massive 600" UHDTV. My house is in CT, but I sit in upstate New York to watch it.

So, equivalent to watching a 1" screen from about 20 yards away. :lol

Defiantly going to pick up that Blade Runner Steelbook.

Who has that?

I have the digi. I am good.

Well I didn't end up waiting on Aladdin. I picked up the "digi"Book from Target when I went to get my San Andreas steelbook. I have all the other Target Disney books so why stop now :dunno:

Yes I am weak :monkey2

Agreed. I hoping to get one of the new Pioneer Elites and have an ATMOS set up by Christmas. :panic:

Just my opinion but I'd stay away from Pioneer from now on. I've had their flagship Elite models for as long as I can remember, but no more. Some models from 2011 to 2013 have been crapping out due to a bad processor, and Pioneer refuse to acknowledge it. There's a thread on it on the AVS board and people are mad. Pioneer also have let go part of the receiver business to Denon for some of their parts, so they are not entirely built by them anymore (not that Denon isn't good). I just can't trust them anymore after all those receivers started to crap out and they didn't give a damn. So I bought a Marantz AV8802a and it rocks!

I have a Marantz SR6006 and it's done great for me. No Atmos though. I doubt I'll upgrade to Atmos anytime soon.

Interesting. I will have to check it out.
I was going with the SC-87. Could snag one for about 1k.
Needed the phono input as well.

Any suggestions in that ballpark?

The SC-87 doesn't seem to have HDCP 2.2 which will be crucial for 4k, and newer models are already out. I'll have to research to see what comes up around that price.
