35 years and still the Champ! :clap

Do you know if there are any improvements color wise on this version?

The Dean Cundy color approved transfer DVD was always the go to format for the diehards. The original blue-ray was to clean and the color timing was off.

I believe that blu ray you're referring to was just a raw conversion from standard to HD. I've never seen the DVD myself, however.

For this release, Cundey was on-board for the transfer.
Here's a snippet of the description:

"Anchor Bay and Trancas went back to the vaults to present this legendary terror classic as never before, including creating an all-new HD transfer personally supervised by the film’s original cinematographer, Academy-Award® nominee Dean Cundey..."

I know. As soon as I read that, I knew this would probably be the best video transfer for this movie in a long time, that is, until they release it in 4K. :panic:

I'm such a horror nut.
I watch all year long. :D

Depends who you talk to. Check out the thread on Blu-ray.com, it's a mess! Some prefer the older one saying the colors looks more like autumn while this one looks to "bright" but with more detail. I received mine a few days ago but I have yet to watch it. Got it in a great deal at Best Buy for $12.99!

I went on a silent movie kick this week

I've been wanting to checkout a few lately as well. I've never seen "Safety First" and wanted to check that one out.
