The "Mr. Sandman" song always gave me chills (as a child) when I heard it on the radio, even when it wasn't anywhere near Halloween.
It's an AIP film, and it was cool enough. Like most Lovecraft inspired stuff, the effects don't measure up when it reaches the finale. Atmosphere is good though. Just could have used more horror. When you build up that much occult creepiness, you need to deliver something truly horrific at the end. For 1970, it did alright.
