Same here. I would have to say I was more of a DC person than a Marvel person, aside from Spidey being my favorite superhero but the MCU really delivered in a way that the DCU hasn't come close to, in my opinion. I grew up with the Superfriends cartoon and the prospect of a proper Justice League, built up over several movies like the MCU did with the Avengers would've been orders of magnitude more awesome than the Avengers. They simply lacked the patience and/or vision to pull it off...again, in my opinion. With all that said, I'm am hopeful that I enjoy Snyder's vision of this film.

Amen to that. DC was always my home but I loved the 80?s Spidey cartoon and always loved the character. Superfriends just is my earliest childhood favorite though. It was so sad to see DC fail in producing quality, character driven movies like the MCU did. I would have loved to see happen in the DC universe what was so well done in the Marvel universe.

I still selectively enjoy DC movies and expect to like this.

No, it was filmed that way.

Unless it wasn't on an IMAX camera, it's a bit of a weird choice either way. 16:9 and 2.39:1 ratios were made so you can see more compared to the old 4:3 ratios. so I would guess the reasoning behind the aspect chosen here would be artistic rather than for content.

It’s fine (and honestly wacky) that he did it for an Imax screen, again somewhat pointless if not using the actual Imax camera, but for home presentation is just absurd lol

In other words just make it 1:85 for home use and be done with it which is what is normally done for Imax ratio at home which opens up to show the incredible 70mm details

But whatever Zach is in his own little world if he wants me to watch a vertically boxed image for 4 hours that is what I will do lol

Must be powered by AT&T. :rotfl

If this...thing, is successful, I could see WB giving Snyder more directing jobs in the DCEU. It was over, he was out, and we were free from his vision, but now it could start all over again.

We were so close...

Zack Snyder’s Justice League’ Review: The Director’s Four-Hour Cut Is Truly a New Film — and a Knockout.

Deadline-
In the end, I have to admit that, for all its longueurs, Zack Snyder’s Justice League possesses its own kind of integrity. The possessive nomenclature of the title is deserved.

Empire Magazine
More than just being superior to its 2017 counterpart, Zack Snyder’s Justice League is an entertaining if overlong superhero flick in its own right. If this is the last DC film Snyder directs, it’s a satisfactory exit.

I'm wondering if all of these good reviews are because they went in with low expectations and were pleasantly surprised. Either way I'm looking forward to it. I just wish Supes was in blue and red if this is Cavill's last outing.
