Came across BvS on TV last night. I've seen it many times now and have the same frustrated reaction to it every single time. I always seem to be looking for it to improve and it just can't. Many moments or scenes of greatness that I wish were in a different overall movie - various different movies really.

pfft...your lack of appreciating sophisticated drama when presented with it is quite telling please rewatch the extended cut to better grasp the intricate nuances of Lois?s earth shattering fruit basket revelation and Bruce?s grand Martha epiphany!

Snyder cut requires a much deeper thought analysis than your shallow theoretical T2 time travel dissertations you sir are not ready for the 4 hour cut of JL.

If I'm reading the NYTimes interview correctly, the movie ends with

Superman "succumbing" to the Anti-Life Equation .... dying again, I guess?? And when asked why Snyder would end the movie on a cliffhanger that won't get a sequel, Snyder said they asked him for his vision of the movie, so that's what he did.

This dude is seriously a top-tier troll. Except he's arrogant enough to call himself a "provocateur".

I took it as to mean more in its scope and what its trying and set out to achieve as opposed to the quality of its content being that of LotR or Godfather, definitely didn't read it as the way you guys have.

Score keeps climbing on RT's at the moment, 76% out of 108 reviews, passed some pretty harsh critics already also.

The film is already a win, it's being released in the whole capacity Snyder wanted it to be, it's getting one of the best scores in a DC film from critics, all that's left to pass is the audience to come in and watch it. i imagine a lot of WB's execs will have egg on their faces, can definitely see AT+T and HBO signing Snyder on to their side of the department and WB's Flash and beyond towards the cinema end.

I think it says something about a 4hour long cut in all of Snyder's Snyderyness being critically received as it is - I don't think it would have been as a cinema release, maybe he's met his platform and partners for his way of storytelling. I really hope so, with films and content on streamers rivaling cinema films, I think Snyder + DC could occupy the big superhero space of the streaming platforms and let WB's side of the films duke it out with Marvel, and then let films like The Batman and Joker sit in their artistic film space.

As an aside, even more embarrassingly surely is how well received Fisher is being singled out with praise.

Yea nah. They keep saying this is it abd there won?t be anymore . They want to move on from him . He doesn?t seem to want to let go

Based on the interview I was reading earlier, it sounds like he understands this is his last hurrah.

I?m very happy to see but am shocked at the positive reviews. Are these the best reviews of Snyders DC? MOS for me was incredible and probably the best DC movie for me.

I actually find it difficult to watch now after seeing the ultimate cut. The edits they made were horrible but I don?t know what they could have cut out.

Paid shill........

Comparing any superhero film to those is just nonsense.....

You can?t trust any extreme reviews positive or negative.

He himself said it?s over, but if WB gave him another shot I?m sure he wouldn?t say no. I wonder if a positive response will change WBs plans

He said it's over and he knows that WB don't consider it canon, he also said in an interview if they did offer him something new he'd cross that bridge if it ever came. I mean, he did add a chapter which sets up the sequel with a cliffhanger, so he is baiting it.

But seriously, a lot of people don't get the Martha moment. Not even Snyder adequately explains it. Maybe we need to ask the writers.

(Then again, maybe I just read too much into it...)

Not only that, it's probably better than it would have been the first time as he's had four more years to plan.
