Is want to quote Ken, but his multiquotes are ridiculous and impossible. :lol

Anyway, Ken seems like a huge Disney Lucasfilm apologist. I'm not fully aware of the issues with why D&V Press was stripped of the rights to publish further McQuarrie work. But the fact remains, they have created two of the most gorgeous volumes of Ralph's work to date. That is not to say that the new Abrams edition will not be as good or better, but we must wait and see. I applaud the D&V team for releasing what may not be as marketable to the typical Star Wars fanboy. One volume which is about half SW, and another which is utterly void of any SW at all. These tomes are for the McQuarrie enthusiast, and not just the fan boys. All that said, I do hope and believe that the new edition will be amazing. But saying they have made better scans just seemed like bullying the previous champions of Ralph's spectacular body of work. The printed page can only hold so many dots of information as is, and yes, some printing presses are better than others. The result remains to be seen.

Maybe some just lament not having the previous release? They are signed by RMQ, and I've seen them trade quite high...

One on eBay at $3000 asking currently. :horror

Wanna place a friendly wager? I bet you $5 that there will be a LE of that book. Never believe panelists. They only tell you what they are allowed to say, and they don't always know everything. Also, none of them worked for Abrams.

Good. You just proved my point without need for further argument. Panelists talking out of their butts.

Most definitive? It won't include anything but SW.

Better scans? Who can say really...

Oh Chase...

https://gma.yahoo.com/mexico-millio...est-164253443--abc-news-personal-finance.html

More than five years ago, art collector and author Forrest Fenn decided to bury a treasure chest in New Mexico. Since then, he says tens of thousands of people have tried to find it.

The 84-year old millionaire, who lives in Santa Fe, left clues in his book, “The Thrill of the Chase” -- but so far, no one has been successful.

"I think it's out of control," Fenn told ABC Albuquerque affiliate KOAT, estimating that 30,000 people looked for the treasure last summer and that 50,000 may look for the treasure this summer.

Fenn has never revealed the value of the treasure chest -- which measures 10 inches by 10 inches -- but the New Mexico Tourism Department estimates the value to be as much as $2 million.

Fenn did reveal that a few have come close to finding it -- some 200 feet away from the hidden spot.

The retired fighter pilot who was shot down twice in Vietnam said in a video produced by the state tourism department that the idea to hide the treasure chest came to him after he was diagnosed in 1988 with terminal cancer.

Fenn told ABC News that the treasure includes 265 gold coins -- "mostly American eagles and double eagles, hundreds of gold nuggets, some as large as chicken eggs, ancient Chinese carved jade figures, Pre-Columbian gold animal artifacts, lots of rubies, emeralds, sapphires, and diamonds and other things."

Fenn said "numerous" people saw the treasure before he hid it, including New York Times best-selling writer Douglas Preston. Fenn told KOAT he is not impatient that people haven't found it.

"I wanted the monetary value to be a consideration for those who are looking for it, but mostly my motive was to get kids off the couch and away from their texting machines and out in the mountains," Fenn told KOAT.

Fenn left nine clues in a poem that was included in his book, he said.

"Somebody could find it tomorrow and it may not be found for a thousand years. I'm looking at the big picture. A lot of people who are searching for the treasure don't see it the same way I do. I would love if someone found it tomorrow but if nobody found it for a hundred years, that's okay with me too."

GET ON THAT!!!

That Blue Snags is a white whale for me. About 20 years ago I was at a Flea Market where a junk dealer had at least 50 boxes of just random stuff. In one of the boxes I found a beat up Blue Snags and my heart nearly stopped. I grabbed him with a few other toys and brought it up to the guy. I don't know how but he quickly saw the Snags and went on a rant about how rare he was and quoted me $100 for him. This figure was probably a 5 on a scale of 10, no way worth near that. Sadly, I didn't get it. Ever since then, it's been my goal to find another one in the wild and won't budge until I find it.

Now I have to fix one of my Gamera's toenails. I'm going to try to do it myself. Gonna go buy some paints from Games Workshop on Thursday.

Boy, I saw a guy here was selling Sideshow Commander Praji and Captain Antilles for $65 each as well as a Rebel Fleet Trooper for $50. Would've scooped those up at that price if I'd seen them fast enough.

Oh wow, neither did I!

Beautiful! Awesome condition!

The panelists talking out of their butts mentioned the better scans, actually. And yes, it won't include anything but Star Wars. That alone makes it the most definitive McQuarrie book. Eliminate that other crap!
I'm joking obviously, but I care more about SW than anything else. All I need for myself is the SW art. So this book is all I'll ever need... But I do have the Japanese D&V version and accompanying English translation.

I didn't either until I got my He-Man art book today. I saw that and thought it was pretty darn cool.
That's cool. You have taught us all something today!

Bargains!

I can think of many reasons why you should have stayed home :lol
If we're just talking dollars I can think of around 2,500 reasons I should have stayed home :lol
I have an old Master Replicas Vader Force FX lightsaber. They're going for a lot of money now?
I use mine to chase the wife around the house when I am drunk and naked.

True story :lecture
Never knew that, pretty cool stuff there :rock

Did not read :yess:

DAMMIT! I was just in Santa Fe a few weeks ago for three days for work. I could have gone treasure hunting after class everyday

I neither love nor miss you :)

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Got Han in today. Not as nice as it should have been, but not as bad as nearly every picture I have seen has made it look. Can't say I am 100% happy with it, and it annoys me that I caved and got one when I was so adamant about not getting it. Such it the life though.

Mine shipped on a 1.0, which is about as awful a body choice as Sideshow could have made, short of putting him on a Hobbit body :duh

Swapped to a 1.1, made a huge difference, also didn't push the foot pegs all the way into the legs which gave him bit of extra height. Doesn't have that squat look he had right out of the box.

Shirt and jacket make a nice upgrade to the old Sideshow Han outfit.

I suppose that echoes what pretty much everyone has said, making this an exceptionally redundant post :(
