It's the the unstoppable force vs the immovable object except now it's 'entitled customer' vs 'arrogant manufacturer'.

But I'm sure any time there actually is an update, it will be posted here shortly, soooo not to get too snippy, but you don't need to ask for updates, you can just read the thread. It's not like anyone is sitting here with info, not sharing it, waiting for someone to ask about for an update.

I guess a mod purged a bunch of posts on this thread or something? Couldn't find it from earlier today.

That explains my post count dropping by one.

It was a bit of a random departure, and the thread bump gave me hope as well that maybe there was news about the figure.

*sigh*

I hope there's an update on this soon. I believe this went up on November 18th of 2022. I'm willing to let this get to the two year mark before I get upset about the time this is taking, but that's now three months away. I do hope this releases within the next year month and starts shipping before the holiday rush.

I don't mind LIM taking their time and getting it right. I'd rather a product come out well made than rushed. But considering the delays on the Connor figure and how long Arthur took to come out, I really think they need to start figuring out a way to get these moving a little quicker, as was their stated goal starting with their to be announced Joel, Ellie and Dutch figures.

I ordered via ComicSanctorum and paid the full price over 2 years ago. They appear to be dissolved now. I then went to OSK, fortunately, my investment for two LimToys 1/6 Outlaws of the West (Gunslinger [Morgan] and The Cowboy [Marston]) was 'just' the deposit. I was encouraged by OSK initial emails and still feel encouraged by the fact they still seem to be in business. Most credit cards refuse to allow you to claim unfulfilled orders after 90 days, so my $$$ to ComicSanctorum is gone. - but worse yet, no Outlaws of the West. There's someone on eBay selling their Gunslinger now for $1000. I'm sincerely downtrodden over the whole debacle. Where did you place your order(s)?

I think at one point or another, we've all been screwed in this hobby.

Thankfully, I knew to avoid Toys Wonderland/Comic Sanctorum/Toys Apollo, but I got burned on the Gunslinger on Toy Origin - another store that screwed a lot of people in this hobby. Plenty of people burned on eBay over the years too.

Eventually, you learn to trust a few places and stick with them. One Sixth Kit, Giantoy, KG Hobby, Sideshow, Timewalker, Monkey Depot, etc. It's just not worth trying to save a few bucks when you might lose a few hundred.

You're in good hands with Kit.

Thanks for the input. Unfortunately, the price I paid for my 1/6 figures via ComicSanctorum was not discounted compared to OneSixthKit. I chose CS after seeing a YouTube unboxing of the Gunslinger, where the poster recommended them. I was really excited and trusted their positive experience would be the same for me. Like you essentially said, live and learn. So relieved to hear we are in good hands with OSK

I appreciate that the guys at LIM no longer give updates because of previous ‘feedback’, but at this point, are they still in business?

No new pre-orders, and the Detroit figure has been 5 years I think since pre-order?

The only thing they’ve released in recent memory is the updated 1/12 Venom and that could just be the factory they used re-using the molds?

To be clear - I have NO inside knowledge and this is just speculation, but would be good to get a ‘we’re still here’ from them. Even in the FB group there has been nothing from them since the Last of Us release same time last year.

LIM is still very much alive. All projects are currently progressing and improving, albeit more slowly due to unavoidable circumstances.

Life gets in the way of the best laid plans, and all we can do is have patience because it's going to be well worth the wait.

Figures that went up for pre-order are looking great, as are those that were only teased, along with things not even revealed publicly yet. Suffice to say I'm stoked.

Not just reused moulds, the materials and headsculpt was improved. They’re ticking along. They haven’t put up any new preorders precisely because they have a back log. They also said in the future they’re waiting until pre-production is further along before doing preorders so there’s a shorter wait until release.

Was lim planning to release the Arthur reissue around the same time as John? itd be super cool to grab him aswell since hes so hard to find now apart from scam ebay sellers and people who just want ridiculous amounts of money

Yes. Next wave of Arthur, the sickly head sculpt pack, and John are all supposed to release together.

Not sure why they want to do it that way, this head would certainly reignite my hype for John, and there's no way this small head will take as long as that entire figure.

Arthur reissue which was up with John was already released (Got two myself) but after that another batch was up for preorder, idk if that was released haven’t preordered more.

It hasn't yet. I've had another reissue on PO since Dec. I'm guessing the pre-orders for him must still be doing really good since he's been taking awhile.
I got my hands on a Verycool "Shadi" (for cheap too), so now I just need John yet and I'll have my favourite three characters from the game.
Also waiting on Dutch to go up for PO.

Can't wait for the aliens to take over my collection to enjoy this figure.

Then this thread started quite some years ago I've showed you rehaired version of VTS cowboy that supposed to be John.

Here are bits and pieces that I've bought from VTS to make a John figure. When was that? 2021? Everything elsa was commissioned or made from scratch
Attached you can see how the final version looks like. Will use Lim version for a younger version John. Have high hopes for you Lim!
