I would love for one of the companies to do a Bruce Wayne body from Flash so I can use the aged Keaton head sculpt for that and keep the cowl on the actual Batman figure.

This is Batman's 85th Anniversary year (as announced by HT as well), so there's still hope. I would bet towards it not happening though.Still pissed they teased all those alt. suits, and not one became a reality.

Had the movie made a billion in BO, we would all be getting anything and everything under the sun from this movie - Hall of batsuits? Check, Supergirl with prison outfit? Check, Young Barry with Batman Returns suit? Check (and won’t be cancelled) Future old man Barry? Check. But it ended up getting bailed out by Barbie… so no Hot Toys for all of you.

I have no idea why thet announced that and only showed like one Batman figure. You’d think it was the year of Star Wars with the way they pushed out a ton of those characters from new to old. I love Star Wars but it just further proves that hot toys is more of a Disney company now then anything.

Yea true. I think they were betting on that but I knew it wouldn’t. There was so much holding the movie from achieving that. Ezra miller for one

Tonal inconsistencies, an inferior reshot ending and behind the scenes protagonist drama aside, I found the film enjoyable the first time I watched it in cinemas. Curiously, over the time it has really grown on me, becoming my favourite live-action superhero film after Burton's Batman films, Batman Forever and Watchmen. It might be in large part due to seeing Micheal Keaton back as Batman, Benjamin Walfisch's truly incredible score and the Batwing action. But it would be silly not to give Ezra Miller props for his acting chops. He delivered the emotional parts really well, and playing three versions of a character, opposite of himself, is no small feat.
It's a shame the film didn't make more at the box office. Most other superhero films are far less nuanced or entertaining that this was.

I really enjoy everything that isn’t an action scene in that movie.
Ezra does do a great job in multiple roles and Keaton is just too good at what he does to not enjoy every second of him onscreen.
The mum stuff breaks my heart as well so the emotional essence of the movie certainly resonated with me, which might be the most important aspect of any entertainment for me.
It’s a good enough movie that had the potential to be great.
I totally would have bought the Returns and OG Batsuit with sidearms if HT didn’t throw in the towel.

I wonder if any hope of Hot Toys releasing their 1989 Batcomputer died with The Flash bombing - if there was ever any hope to begin with.

I still have hope that they'll release it. It's based on '89 Batman and love for that movie will never end. Maybe they'll use the hype of the '89 Batman 2.0 release to put it up for pre-order.

My understanding is that he was a variant of Batman that looks like Michael Keaton and not the exact one from the Burton movies....

Not sure why it would matter, they made it pretty easy to separate, or just ignore.
It's actually even built into his spaghetti explanation as "retrocausal" - basically, that interfering with time can retroactivley cause changes in the past and future . So yeah it's implied this movie narrative had its own unique past.
Honestly all that effort and set-up could have better been used, to launch a Batman Beyond continuity, using Keaton's old man Wayne and swapping the Barry Allen character for Terry McGinnis.

Yeah, but that would make too much sense for Warner Bros. I still don’t feel like Keaton’s given up on being Batman, yet. I feel like it’s really suspect to me that, immediately after WB experiences a regime change and derails the initial plan to have Keaton take over in the DCEU as Old Man Batman, he reteams with Burton on Beetlejuice 2 for them.
Makes me wonder, if it performed really well, critically and commercially, if Keaton and Burton couldn’t then parlay that into saying there’s a market for another Batman movie from them under Gunn’s new Elseworlds banner.

This sucks had both this Batman and The Flash cancelled with ss for missing both payments on them. Got on waitlist for Batman but I might not care as much since I'll be keeping 89 Batman. Still would like to own this.

I think part of the problem is getting Burton involved. Maybe he plays coy about it in interviews but it never seems like he's all that interested in returning. It's a bummer because a true Batman 3 with Keaton and Burton is pretty much #1 on my dream movie list.

I think our only hope is that 1.) he remembers how much fun he had working on 89 and Returns with Keaton and 2.)Keaton’s renewed enthusiasm for the character is able to break down those barriers. It’s weird, though, because, like, I want it…but I don’t even know what it could be? Jack died in the original and, even if he hadn’t, I don’t think he’s in any condition that he’ll ever come out of retirement and, if they went the Beyond angle, that would create expectations for a franchise rather than a one-off and that’d put them at odds with Gunn and his universe.At the same time, though, I feel like a Burton Beyond movie would just be dripping with atmosphere. A grimey, gothic Neo-Gotham that evoked all of the largess of Furst’s designs combined with an almost organic futurism of, like, an HR Geiger; even the villains of that universe, like Blight, Inque, and The Jokerz feel like they’re just right in Burton’s wheelhouse, aesthetically. I also feel like whatever they came up with for a Beyond suit would be cool as hell. Especially if he brought some of the trademark weirdness he brought to “Superman Lives!” with it.
