wow... u guys are really really really, really discussed these alot.. hehehehe...

remember guys this is not Hottoys, Inart or even JND.... they even dont nearly had the same price as them...

these are MTtoys, SWtoys, Hotheart we talking about... they always had been a quick cash grab from their first product... and never really comitted to be accurate as long as the product sell... dont think to much, they will never ever change...

I’ve played with both, it’s not super noticeable unless you pay attention, tho in the light areas strands on gets a lot lighter.

The tech for real time hair strands is super new and realtime lighting just hasn't caught up to how good the faked lighting of the classic hair cards method can look. A pixel depth offset shader and a simple ambient occlusion map gives the "hair strands off" model the appearance of a full head of hair made up of individual strands that can self occlude and cast shadows on itself, when it's really just a fancy texture. Meanwhile the actual head of hair made of real individual strands winds up looking worse in comparison. Maybe by the next console gen real time hair strands will have caught up and/or surpassed cards, but for now it feels like including the option at all was just for the art nerds who can appreciate how technically difficult it is.

It looks truly nice but as we know final product won’t look anything like this. I canceled every SW toys preorder, even Lara Croft (I had preordered 3) kept only Triss Merigold who has 0 alternatives. I hope I’m wrong and Lara will be amazing, but I’m good with MT Lara.

Hahahaha... there is a reason these thread called RE CUSTOM thread NOT RE Figure thread.... ever since the first RE figure Hottoys, RE 1/6 figure is always lack of interest in official license... thats why these third party always had their lack of quality, 'cos simply they cannot sell much, they will never bother to be accurate as long as no one gonna buy alot of figure from them...

that is the reason why we always chat in the CUSTOM thread because we always need to custom it... so yeah no need to discuss alot and nitpick on everything, 'cos they will never listen... their figure is limited 'cos RE or video game figure doesnt sell much... thats why we always custom it .. thats why the only RE thread alive in here is a CUSTOM thread..
seems like the one who always nitpick every release is newer member who thinks these limited budget small company can do better like Hottoys, or DAMtoys... which is never as long as it doesnt sold out much...

Taking the stance this is a custom thread, wouldn’t that make criticising and nitpicking more important??

Instead of accepting the figure as is, it’s analysing and highlighting the figures accuracy and faults to get an idea of what or how to customise the figure once in hand.

I know for me I’m not expecting any of this to even reach the company, never mind make changes this late into production.

That couldnt be further from the truth. The only reason why we discuss all figures here is because nobody wants to be a part of 14 different topics about different Ada figures. The reason why we use the Custom thread is because we use it as a megathread to dump anything RE related in.

Well we complained about the MT Ada and Ashley promotional material and MT actually ended up changing the sculpts. RRX saw our discussion and I would not be surprised he told MT since they have connections with eachother. So yes our scrutinising does have impact sometimes.

well to each their own then i guess... For me, im not gonna critisizing a lot on a figure im never gonna buy which wasting my time for it, and for a figure that i already PO'ed i can compare it with the prototype or the game source and analyze it alone since its my figure anyway no one can point what is better and what the bad in it beside myself 'cos at the end it is according to my own taste..
Now if u comment asking advise what u can do to make the figure better then it is an apropriate post, but seeing every post in each page critizing a one figure is never gonna go anywhere beside just releasing a stress...

And why i said it is a custom thread means we who usually chat here understand that 1/6 RE figure usually needs to be customized 'cos its always lack of accurate in it... thats why we usually take what any available there is in the market and custom it.... this is a forum it is different than fb group which we can always nitpick every release in each post, if we do that in this thread, every custom made that members make will be burried 'cos of constantly nit picking comments in each page... it is better to make each thread of every RE figure release if u really need to do A LOOOOT of comments that nitpicking and critize one figure every each page...

i dont know exactly about that.. but i guess it because alot of people criticize it in BBICN or weibo which is based in China.. i dont think there is much company that goes in here beside ASMUS...

Speaking for myself personally, I have the Mttoys figure on order and plan on getting it making discussions about that specific figure not a waste of my time.

An accuracy of a figure is not personal taste, how you display or customise your figures is. I don’t see anything wrong in debating and analysing a figure literally the day new promotional images go up, while we wait for releases to post images of and customise.

I understand you concern about custom figures being drowned out in all this “noise” but correct me if I’m wrong this thread was relatively quiet before the update regarding mttoys and sure a few people might have some custom projects in the works, a lot of the upcoming customs we will see will come from those posting about the Mttoys Leon when they get it in hand and begin customising.

However due to a lack of an active general resident evil thread, and all the third party RE figures being posted here first this thread has transcended “customs” with many here coming for updates or announcements.

I think it’s more likely the changes was made because of the complaints made on BBICN, That’s why those updates was posted there and copied over to here after the fact.

Even the updated Leon images are stamped with “uploaded in BBICN”

Regardless any criticisms now will fall on deaf ears so close to release. Any changes would have been made after going up for order and the initial promo images.
 
I don’t mind having 1/6 figures posted in this thread unlicensed or licensed. I don’t think we need separate threads for each unlicensed figure especially all these Ada’s. It’s a good place to discuss every upcoming 1/6 re figure being released. What to buy, what not buy or just poke fun of it like swtoys Ada releases. Let’s get that 4.0!
