Conventional wisdom is that it’s Mike Deluca and Pam Abdy that are behind anything related to Snyder resuming a relationship with WB at this point (i.e., the 300 prequel TV series and now this theater release of ZSJL). Because anything Snyderverse DC related is “elseworld” in the same sense that Reeves’ Batman and Phillips’ Joker are. If James Gunn has been instrumental in some way or simply has given his blessing from his end regarding the DCU, that’s great, though.

I agree. Deluca and Abdy have a good relationship with Zack. They gave him permission to do the full circle event and are most likely the ones who gave the blessing for the event later this month. Notice though that its Justice is Grey edition. The colour one has only been allowed to be shown once (at Full Cirlce). The showing at Kevin Smith's cinema got cancelled, which is crazy as the Schumacher Cut was shown there.

Can you imagine the reaction if this fight choreography was in Rebel Moon?

I would imagine that they’re the ones that brought Cavill back as well. However briefly!

The “theater release” of ZSJL is looking like a one time IMAX screening of the black and white edition at the Egyptian theater in Los Angeles. Probably should have thought it through better before he posted about in the way that he did, getting his fans hopes up for a worldwide release, etc. It was technically not misleading. But in effect it was. Practically speaking, he should have respected how people would interpret it.

If it was the colour version I would fly from Orlando to LA to watch it.

Wow! I’d go see it in Manhattan but that’s like 20 miles as the crow flies for me.

A New Rebel Moon Podcast Reveals the Origin of the Jimmys

This is the sort of thing that I want from a franchise like this. I’m a total lore nerd from my Baldur’s Gate and Neverwinter Nights persistent world server D&D days. And even before that in the early days of tabletop.

I’ve gotten over my disappointment that this is a popcorn movie. It’s not the next Star Wars or Lord of the Rings that I was hoping for. But I still do like the characters, story, and mythos and I want to see it continue.

I think it's too early to tell just what his proper versions end up being.

Well, Zack himself has said that the director’s cuts will be wilder, more fantastical, more pulp-ish “Heavy Metal,” and more deconstructive in that way if you will. Personally, I was hoping for something that takes a serious approach, with more weight, more gravitas. And it still could move in that direction if he gets a Part 3. Like whatever he needed to get out of his system with this Heavy Metal aesthetic he’s done that now, and he can turn to building out something a little more serious feeling. But that’s just my own take. I respect that others can and do have a very different experience of it.

:lol Zach is such a child...
You can tell he's just having the time of his life with all the blood splattering around. But I'm actually impressed at the amount of new stuff in that trailer. It really does looks like a completely different movie.
Ok, I'm in, he's managed to convince that this will be sufficiently different.

This is what I've said all along. You can't judge his director's cut based on viewing the heavily edited cuts. It doesn't speak to the quality of them but they will be significantly different enough to stand on their own.
