Huge space nerd. But don't about the quality of Star Ace toys. Don't have figures from them. Is a pre order needed. Or can I just wait untill the fugure is released and decide and order then?

The DiD version has been out for years and is magnificent
This right here.

DiD version is a work of art, and if you do some digging you can find their Armstrong piece for retail. I recently acquired one NiB for retail and it is just an amazing piece, and I also have the Buzz 1/6 figure from Dragon done on their reissue.

The Star Ace one is interesting - they pull pieces from both of the prior version released. The boots are unique in this version. The rest is not great. Sculpt looks OK, but the suit, etc leaves a lot to be desired.... which will only get worse with their final release knowing their track record.

Star Ace is probably the most hit or miss company out there. But when they bring their A game they can turn out a great figure.

Does the "A" stand for ass? Because I've never seen a good Star ace figure 🤣

They used to be good when they first started out and had KA Kim doing the sculpts for them. I think these figures still look pretty good, especially considering that they're ten years old. Everything since then though... oh boy

Why be such a dick? Early Harry Potter, Steve McQueen, and I happen to think James Dean are all great figures. But maybe you have never seen those.
I’m not a dick, I’m being honest. But if that’s considered being a dick these days than I’m the biggest one around 🤣
Seriously though, this company sucks moldy cheese covered ball sacks. And I’ve never seen those figures you mentioned, nor do I care to. This company sucks, and that’s a fact.
