Gah, this thread has me changing my mind back and forth every other day lol. I only wanted 2.0 for the diorama base, but now I'm not even certain if I have room for it. On one hand, it will balance out the Reeve Superman and his diorama rather nicely, but on the other hand, now that I've ordered The Flash Batman, I may need the real estate, and might just have all three Keaton Batmen on a single shelf together. Man, what I wouldn't give for just a little more room, but sadly I'm limited to four detolfs.

So does the DX09 cowl have the ball joint attached to the actual head? I notice on pictures of the DX09 body it has the neck, but no peg sticking out of it.

I caved and ordered a DX09 body for this guy with the hopes of attaching Unreal’s sculpt to it, with the 2.0 hands & boots.

Unreal is offering two versions of his sculpt - one that connects to the 2.0 body, and one that connects to the DX09 body. Just want to make sure I’m not forgetting any pieces to make that happen.

Also, I asked and his sculpt should hopefully ship in roughly three months.

He said there will be swappable mouth plates as well. Hoping to see some photos of those soon!

The eyes and eyelids are the main thing stopping me from placing an order, wish it had HT 2.0 eyes.

Instead of some older suggestions of trying to sand it all down, I wonder if you could fill up those dimples with putty, then slightly sand to get it perfectly smooth and repaint.

If it's a statue, you might be able to sand them down or fill the bumps with putty / resin. But this is a rubber suit for action figure. A slight movement might crack the putty.

Someone needs to try painting him with some black latex paint like liquitex. People use it to touch up pleather cracks. Not sure how it would interact with whatever this is made of, though

Can’t fix avocado textured suit. Even if you manage to fix it by smoothing out the texture, it’ll still look so bad.

I tried to like this figure in the last few days, really, I really tried. It’s so bad. What makes this body worst is it looks like they enlarged the body by making it look too thick and flat, so it looks like Keaton gained 20 lbs, and had to fit his chubby body in that suit.

Also, muscles on his chest look so flat. They don’t look defined. In the movie, he had very intense looking muscles on his chest suit.

On top of that, cape is bad. It’s too poofy and we’re stuck with trying to find a better cape for it.

The only good thing of this 2.0 is the cowl sculpt and a smiling plate.

Just a terrible release, imo.

It would’ve been so cool if they’d made this version fully battle-damaged, and did a cathedral battle Nicholson Joker too.

Maybe Joker could’ve had Artisan hair since he gets ruffled up a bit, and a laughing expression with some blood on his mouth. Throw in some “you wouldn’t hit a guy with glasses on” glasses, detachable “lemme lend ya a hand” hand, etc.

I just remembered I had pics of Hot Toys actually showing off a battle damage version of the suit in 2023 and it was actually smoother than both dx09 and 2.0. That type of texture in the non-battle damage versions has to be some kind of artistic intention 🤷‍♂️

Crazy this wasn't used(clean version that is). Even the belt capsules look better than dx09 or 2.0

looks much better than what we actually ended up getting.
Unless you get super close with the macro lens that texture doesn't bother me any more than the dx09.

i initially tried to tell this to myself but my problem with these types of arguments ("looks good in the shadow", "you don't even see it from a distance") is that they feel like insults in disguise. Even if it were true that I can’t see the texture from afar, I’m nonetheless aware of it and it bothers me bc it's such an unnecessary mistake/ bad design choice. It's like why not just make basic things right.

Yeah I get it. Pretty much how I feel with the Jazzinc 89 Batmobile dents which aren’t even an intended design but a preventable mold defect.

The whole thing looks like a solid cast plastic mould though. Would love a battle damaged version
Probably is tbh, but could have been worked into an actual suit. Pretty sure this was part of the suit set from the Flash, so I imagine they were all solid pieces and not rubber like the normal keaton suits HT does.
