Oh nice, I'm hoping the Jimenez one comes out before NYCC but it looks like we won't get lucky. Also, where did you order it from that you got it so early?View attachment 725096
Got this in a few days ago. Just in time for NYCC
Got it directly from McFarlane Toys Store. Mainly because it had a ship date of July and I figured even if it's late, it should at least be delivered before October. So, roll of the dice basically and got lucky.Oh nice, I'm hoping the Jimenez one comes out before NYCC but it looks like we won't get lucky. That looks 1000x better than what I ever thought it would! Thanks for sharing. Best of luck at NYCCView attachment 725096

Could be due to a relatively old mold?Even if I had to wait, or pay a higher price, I'd always get the 1st versions. Somehow, never appreciated the 2nd versions.
I was checking out eBay and found something peculiar in Risso's 2nd version. They changed the position of his left fist, and his arm seems to be slightly far from his body. I think his right hand holding the cape is a little lower too. And, his boots seem to be a bit far apart as well. This was interesting as I always thought the variants were exact same sculpts except (a) chest logo (b) white border on base, and (c) some changes in paint-app.
Curious to know if there has there been any other B&W with sculpt alterations apart from Risso.
I could be mistaken but I believe Risso was the very first B&W statue in the line

It's my favourite Batman line to collect. It's simply fantastic in idea, form and scale. I have a long list of artists I hope to one day get their representation in this line.

There's been a few I've found really (really!) hard to come by! Quitely Batman in particular. It took me months. And among my search I saw a listing on eBay of someone who has #1-100 for about $7000 (roughly). When I saw it I realised how little of them I truly want immediately (e.g. Risso, Quitely, Jock, Lee). And another train of thought caught my attention and something you alluded too. For more effort - and assuming availability - it would probably cheaper to buy individually. I'm legitimately shocked by the difference in 'Buy it Now' and auction endings. E.g. recently a 1st Ed. Risso I was watching finished at about $50! A separate bid I won of superman/Lois by Gary Frank finished at $250 - the nearest alternative is like $700+ dollars! It really is a great time to collect for some. Not others obviously! My thoughts exactly.
I wanted to be a completist in the line. My first one was Bisley in 2006. I carried on till 2016, then life happened, and I stopped buying and started pruning. From 55, I got back down to 4 of my favourites (Mignola, Arkham Asylum, Eduardo Risso, Frank Miller). Just couldn't get around selling them. They were and still are my favourites. This year, I started to fancy a few of them. Keeping an eye out for some on eBay.
Talking about eBay, I see a lot of older ones going for quite cheap prices, displayed or new. Big (Sideshow PFs) or small (Batman B&Ws), everything's on discount now; sometimes way below the actual price folks paid. A good time for buyers. Statue collecting is going through it's lowest time, and the latest fiasco like XM's will probably create more negativity among collectors. Just sad.
Anyhoo, more characters you say? I'd like to see some villains: Talon, Two face, Riddler, Ivy, the list is quite long!
The more I see of the Lee Joker the more impressed and haunted I get. It's just phenomenal! The Kelley Jones Batman is a favourite of mine too!View attachment 732567Old picture of some of mine.

I really do hope there is a vital longevity to this line! And also some earlier and unique take are given attention. Scott McDaniel, Todd Nauck, Mark Pajarillo, Howard Porter, Phil Hester, Shawn Martinborough, Brian Stelfreeze....
That Bolland one was the last one released with the 5k edition size. The next two of Mignola dropped to 3500 then Freddie Williams at 2000. The rest have been in the hundreds, except the latest one, Sienkiewicz which was just over 1k.Agree about the 'Buy it Now' vs. the actual price at which they get sold. Of all the latest, Brian Bolland's seems to have no takers. I am sure it has gone for less than $20 as well. With a retail of $99, them getting sold at such a low a price is weird. Is it because it was made primarily of resin, like the Bat-Monster?
To wait it out is the better thing to do right now. But then, not sure if the well received ones (Lee Weeks, and future Bill Sienkiewicz, Inhyuk Lee) with a low edition size would be frequently available in the after market on eBay.
