Bought! Have been wanting this one. Okay, i kinda love you again Hot Toys. But don't play with my feelings again, you hear.

Brilliant figure but a shame on no split head and the mimic boots not matching the base. Aside from that the improvements from the original are fantastic. Hot Toys needs to make 2.0s of the Tech Noir and Police Shootout figures. They would sell like hot cakes! Hopefully we see more Terminator figures.

Yep this is 1000% a pre-order.

Delighted to see official pics today, it's a lovely looking package overall. Moving eyes on the T-1000 for the first time will be cool to have. There's a noticeable jump in realism over the MMS129. Hots Toys has trouble getting the shapes of people's heads and faces right though, they never get it right with Arnie and likewise here - something is throwing it off. Perhaps not elongated enough, whether the whole face or maybe just the forehead being too short, I dunno. I expect they'll go with what they've got right now though and continued criticism would be futile.

If we're being honest, I don't think anyone has yet to get Robert Patrick's likeness dead-on. This is the closest I've seen, but there is an ever so slight touch of uncanny valley that I can't quite isolate. Still highly impressive though, and the likeness is so close it's almost unfair to nitpick haha

There’s a lot of bang for your buck here,
though the lack of shotgun explosion sculpt
might prevent me from ordering as I really wanted something that stands out on the shelf.

Kind of leaning towards just the two
T-800’s instead to represent the film.
Less is more and I like the idea of multiple
characters from different films in a DF120 instead
of dedicating half of the front row to T2.

Plus, what happens if they announce an Endoskeleton with LED eyes and die-cast parts?
To me, that would take priority over a T-1000.
I like the idea of the Endoskeleton covered in flesh, battle damaged, and no skin.

So weird - is it just me or does the sculpt look much better there in that Secret Base pic? The forehead suddenly looks the right size proportionally to the rest of his face where it looks oddly short and compressed in the official solicitation pics.

Like always..

If the sculpt looks this good in their notoriously bad promo photos, in person it’s likely as perfect as we could expect.

@agonistes86

What’s your reasoning for skipping?
I’m trying not to have too many figures from the same film, though the sheer amount of stuff included here is making it damn hard to resist. Don’t see this being revisited for a long time.

I thought the same thing about his hairline in official pics versus show/SB pics.

All about angles and lenses. I drove myself mad in the TNG Picard thread doing the same thing. Lenses made it look like two different sculpts.

I hope in reality it really does look like the show + Secret Base model.

See that shot there (among others) is one where it looks weird. The hairline looks too low for Robert Patrick. Is it not the same sculpt or is it a lens thing and/or ill-advised photo editing?

What we saw at the event is what it actually looks like.

However giving him anymore of a forehead would likely throw off how it looks with the motorcycle helmet and shades on.

A trick to make the forehead appear longer would be to place the eyes looking upwards into the brows.

I guess I am officially considered a veteran! I have been collecting so long that you start seeing the 2.0 versions of figures you already own. Yet still no (****** Batman Returns Penguin 1.0 version!!). The T-1000 may be the first figure I may consider the “Double Dip”. The presentation looks complete. Many accessories (which I already own), but I do like new head sculpts (movable eyes) and new boot. I am also a “Base Guy” and I like this one very much. If it was on those horrible raised bases like Chewbacca I would have looks away and never considered (damn you base for making me consider!!!)! Anyways I will marinate on this for a few days. In some ways I feel like this presentation is much better than Innards Legolas (and cheaper too). In the end I believe I have received my $170 worth from my 1.0 version and can still be used wearing the biker gear!
