I’m sure Nate and John sold well and hopefully with Connor wrapping up at some point they’ll have a clean slate to kick off some new projects.

Despite them being just as hard to produce as 1/6 if not harder there’s also the much lower pricepoint for 1/12 figures and less sales. 1/12 never seemed like a profitable market to me. I wonder if that’s why Lim is switching to 1/6 only (for now atleast).

InArt is going fully sculpted everything on their 1/12 to raise funds, because that’s much cheaper to produce. Easy to see why companies like Lim don’t want to dive too far into 1/12 now.

I mean, I get why big name brands like Hot Toys and InArt or Blitzway wouldn't. But brands like MT and such could really benefit from it... Just my 2 cents...

Both got reissues b/c of the outcry of supposed demand for them; so, Mars reissued those figures and each time, the reissue stock sat for a very long time. The amount of ppl who claimed they would buy the figure(s) if only Mars would reissue did not equal the ppl who actually followed through causing stock to just sit around. Not to mention, once the reissues hit, you could get them much cheaper on the secondary market still brand new for cheaper than retailer pricing which made them sit even longer at retailers.

I think these 3rd Party companies have to/should really consider the pros and cons of reissues as I don't think it's as simple as seeing online chatter as that online chatter doesn't 100% convert to sales made.

Out of curiosity, how long does the box process take? I believe it was said a few months ago that you guys were working on the box - do you guys only design it as you're finishing a figure? Do all of the hands and accessories and such need to be cast and completed before you finish the plastic piece on the inside? I'm assuming the answer is yes, considering you need to know what size the holes need to be so everything stays in place securely. I've always wondered how that part of the process works.

Everything needs to be finished in order to make the box, otherwise you run the risk of making a box that doesn't have the correct measurements for the items in it. This one took a little longer to design since it's a bit different than what LIM has done in the past.

Nice to learn something about the production process.

Interesting to see this is a different box style for Lim, I'm excited to see what you guys came up with.

The master piece/prototype should never be used to make a box as many things can change throughout production and a lot of prototypes are usually not sturdy enough to go through the manufacturing of the plastic layers. For Nathan that wasn't really an issue but final production pieces are still required to make sure everything fits in the right place.

I quite like the design of the box, it's clever and LIM will likely use it for future figures.

I know obviously the end game is having our toys on the shelf to look at but I always did find the little insights into the production process to be really cool. I absolutely would have thought you used the master piece to make the box with, not the production pieces, so that's something I learned here.

I also forgot to mention that LIM also included a couple of extra accessories so had the box been done with the prototype, it would've been impossible to include them. The box and instructions are actually the very last step of production, or more accurately, the final thing that the brand has to do for the figure. After the boxes and instructions are produced, everything gets QC'd and packaged and the factory gets ready for shipping.

More will be revealed when the time is right, LIM made the mistake of showing it's hand too early in the past, creating false expectations and frustrating everyone. Going forward there will be much longer intervals between announcements/teasers/information but it will be worth it.
