    Neca has universal monsters!!!

Finally decided to get in on the fun and bought a B&W Lugosi at a local shop, and what a great figure it is! Funnily enough I'm more blown away by how nice the cape is than anything else. It just drapes so well at such a small scale, simply amazing. I think I'll try to get more of these in B&W...

    WATCHMEN: Chapters 1 & 2

Should be fun. I'm not a big fan of the movie, will have to watch it again. I liked it, just didn't love it.

    Alien: Romulus (2024) figures

Maybe NECA learned from the Alien: Covenant fiasco, where they sculpted the figures based on the practical effects, only to find out later that they had been changed in CGI, and they want to wait before releasing anything. Also, I don't want the creature (however familiar we are with the basics...

    Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon

    My enthusiasm remains limited.

'Edge of Tomorrow' - (formerly All You Need Is Kill) - Tom Cruise/Doug Liman

True, that Freeman part wasn't one of his best roles. But both Oblivion and Edge of Tomorrow are great. I always got a Charlton Heston doing Sci-Fi in the late 60's early 70's from this Cruise era. Great fun.

1/6 Ujindou UD9036 Feldherrnhalle Panzergrenadier NCO (Hungary 1944-45)

Yep, that one. The camo is definitely W-SS.

DID - German LAH Division / Heer Flammenwerfer Gefreiter - Joerg

Interesting, I could have sworn I read somewhere (ages ago, when I was collecting WWII stuff, during the heyday of the 6th Division boards) that the W-SS uniforms had a different cut. Will try to look it up, just to satisfy my curiosity.

1/6 Ujindou UD9036 Feldherrnhalle Panzergrenadier NCO (Hungary 1944-45)

The one in the close-up of the shovel, is it the same dude? Looks like one of those Battle of the Bulge photos.

DID - German LAH Division / Heer Flammenwerfer Gefreiter - Joerg

How is he both Heer and W-SS? Other than the belt buckle faux-pas, I'm only seeing SS insignia... Also, didn't the W-SS have slightly different tunics than the regular Heer units (not talking about the camo)?

1/6 Ujindou UD9036 Feldherrnhalle Panzergrenadier NCO (Hungary 1944-45)

Some of the green looks a bit vibrant there, but very nice overall. And why a photo of a W-SS dude?

    Godzilla Minus One - December 1, 2023

Finally had the chance to see this on Netflix, and what a fine movie it is! Astonishing what passion and knowing the source material can do. Incidentally, it got me into the Godzilla mood, so I went back to watch the Monsterverse movies. I still really like Godzilla and Skull Island. King of...

    *BEWARE SPOILERS* Alien: Romulus

Looks pretty good, although I have a feeling there were too many nods to earlier films.

NECA - Vincent Price Ultimate Figure

What an awesome figure. NECA is showing the love for the classics.

    Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon

Eh... couldn't care less about gore. It only works if you are invested in the characters, otherwise it just becomes silly (which is fine if you're doing some type of horror comedy, which this isn't). Some sexy time is always fine, but again, it works best when it serves a purpose in the story...

That wasn't directed at you or anybody in particular, it's just the mood I've seen lately online. Looking forward to watching The Promised Land.

    Megalopolis (May 17, 2024)

I guess that depends on how you view old(er) movies. For example, I watched The Warriors before Clockwork Orange, and I still found Clockwork Orange amazing (without that meaning that I didn't like The Warriors anymore). I must've seen a dozen Dracula movies before I ever saw the original...

    Megalopolis (May 17, 2024)

I'm waiting for that one to open here. Did you like it? It sounds very interesting and has some very good reviews on top. And regarding Coppola, having watched a lot of documentaries and behind the scenes on Apocalypse Now, it seems to me that Coppola is actually very open to collaboration and...

    Megalopolis (May 17, 2024)

Oh, I see. Well, since both Apocalypse Now and the Godfather movies are among the most critically acclaimed, and you stated that you didn't care for them while stating that you preferred a Punisher movie, I suppose I might be forgiven for thinking you were not into that type of cinema. But all...

Star Wars Saga (OT/PT/ST) Discussion Thread

I only recently saw a video of someone, or a group of people actually, who are putting together some type of ultimate editions with the improved SFX/CGI and some cut scenes, but without the alterations.
