Who knows what the one in the Giger museum is made from. I bet it's a frankenstein of parts. I'm willing to bet that the head in the b/w pic above is a hero head. I say this because Bolaji is wearing it. There is a smaller skull that stuntman Eddie Powell used. Of course there was also the Rambaldi head with the mechanical tongue.

I really like bolaji's one:)by the way, last picture of the statue looks awesome to me...which size do you believe it is?? I know, 1/3 but in cm/inches? And when will be ok to preorder??

Wow. The maquette looks real nice. As one might argue about museum pose... just imagine how amazing this thing is, displayed inside acrylic case, along with 1/1 bust in living room!

The one at the museum
In Switzerland looks like Gigers original sculpt. Bolajis body proportion, There's 3 discs and no elbow spurs, the first skull, splayed fingers, no wrist ribs, no flattened stripes below ribcage...

Thanks demorathis, I agree with you with the glossy finish (that I prefer personally) but I am refearing to the sculpt. I don't see the stunt head but the giger's. I can't see any difference between them. Thanks again!

Giger skull looks more simian with a prominent eyebrow ridge and more circular eye sockets. Also the forehead appears more bulbous for some reason. The rimbaldi mechanical head skull has more teardrop shaped eyes with the points toward the bridge of the nose. It's the different between the Neca and the sano for example

At least this is how I noticed it

Giger hero costume skull replicated in
Original 1979 kenner
Sano sculpt 18"
Marmit 23"
Kaiyodo and kaiyodo sofubi 18"
Sega 12" figure kit

Rimbaldi type skull replicated in:
Neca 1/4
Neca
Kotobukiya / ArtFx
New Neca 1/4
Skulls

The Giger skull is usually associated with the tendon-less, longer pacman profile mouth, since an intricate network of condoms were used as tendons on the mechanical rimbaldi head for close ups.

Now, I could be completely wrong and it may be an illusion of paint job but I'm pretty sure they are two very distinct
Skulls whether accidentally or as a result of the mechanism in the effect head

I agree demorathis but in the case of the new bust from coolprops and the statue, they look exactely like the original prop to me. I had the chance to visit giger's museum last year and I can't see any differences.

Or maybe you mean that the stunt head is the one that is exposed at the museum and the original prop from the picture?

Thanks again :)

Both the stunt heads skull and the hero costume of bolaji is based on the original Giger sculpt.
The hero close up of the head for the mechanized mouth has a slightly different skull meaner. I'll try to find another example

Giger style skull based on original sculpt:

Skull used with mechanical moving jaw and tongue:

Notice how the eye sockets in the rimbaldi head's skull are almost "connected" the bridge of the nose. It has a more smashed or angry appearance

Oohhh!ok I get it! Now that you explain me about the eyes..:) thank you!!!so we will get a perfect replica of Giger's work with the bust and with the statue:))great!!!
Rimbaldi's head is also great:) I love my litle artfx:)

I expect aprox the same than the bust. Clutch I really hope you are wrong or I would say goodbye to the statue...also the prime 1 statues...can't to see what they show us at the wonderfest...but I expect pieces for lees than 2K...;)

What are we expecting here price wise? $1500?

That would be nice. The ES of the bust has just been reduced to 850, I'm guessing it is down to slower than expected sales. Let's hope it makes them think about charging too crazy a price for this maquette. I'm expecting $2k, but I'd love it to be less....

Regarding the Hero vs stunt heads. There are lots of opinions about, but it's all open to debate. The one on display in the Giger museum is what I assumed was Gigers "Hero" Whatever it may be, it is (imo) the nicest looking of the various heads so I'm glad Coolprops used that one for the bust and this maquette. It is also the one that the museum display on the full suit so it has official Giger backing. No other collectible has even got close to the accuracy of this and the bust.

hard to say, but from what I have been told by collectible companies, maquettes require a lot more work compared to busts. This will be more than the bust. By how much, who knows. CP pricing is all over the place. I'd guess b/w $2300-2500. These guys don't even compare to ECC/CM as far as quality goes, so they wont get my business whatsoever for that kind of price.

The Alien CM was 1000€ years ago, with giger's signature...no way to charge 3 times that prize...waiting for the final prize...:)hope less than 2K too!lol
