Love seeing the BTS stuff for Clayface. Cool to see the original 3D sculpt and how it's broken down.

These figures are definitely overpriced but as someone else already said, the fact that these can't be reused elsewhere is definitely a contributing factor. There's no underlying 1/6 body here that traditional 1/6 figures have. Clayface is a complete one off. Same for a majority of their figures, outside of repaints that they can do.

The most expensive part is probably having to get everything molded and then tossed away.

I loved that segment and how willing they are to share these details. They seemed super proud of this release, as they should be.

Brief summary of the BTAS related info:

• While Clayface is their big BTAS release of the year, they have a couple more BTAS releases planned for 2025
• Next BTAS figure in early summer
• Their choices for the other releases are based on what collectors/customers online are saying (hopefully they’ve been following our little thread)
• Killer Croc won’t be next but they really want to get him in the line
• Peter liked chat's idea of holiday figures, specifically mentioning "Christmas with the Joker" as a great opportunity to bring Joker back in a different way
• To this Hector responded by saying “wait and see” and that they’ve been talking about alt variants for certain characters
• They have full autonomy over what they decide to make, it’s just a matter of "if time permits"
• They haven’t yet considered dioramas for the BTAS line but are kind of dipping their toes in this with the X-Men Sentinel bases and upcoming X-Men releases
• Hector said they get a lot of requests for them to restock Freeze () and then said “never say never” () and even though he considers it a perfect figure and one of the best they’ve done, there are a couple of things he would want to adjust

My guess is, that each one of these figures have to have brand new, multiple molds. No reuse. That’s expensive and there aren’t as many made.

All the more reason to have a longer preorder window. They can make some of that money back by having additional opportunities to use those molds. Some folks might like a month to get the funds set to pull the trigger on a purchase.

I thought he went superfast, but I’ve only been doing these Mondo drops since Poison Ivy, so I don't have much experience with other drops to compare this one to. Of course I’ve heard about how quickly Rogue sold, like 10 minutes or something crazy like that, but I take it she was a bit of an outlier? Do you remember who sold the fastest in this line? Was it Man-Bat?

I don't know, but i remember Batman Beyond for me It was impossible to order, i think 10 minutes, or 15 It was sold out, if i remember correctly.

Thanks for the summary! I didn't watch the interview.

This all great to hear. I'm hoping then that Two-Face is due this year, as he's definitely one of the most requested from what I've seen.

Unless they're thinking about doing what McFarlane and Mezco are doing at the moment, and dipping into the Kenner variants nostalgia. I wouldn't buy anything like that in this line.

At this price point, I just want core characters in their regular looks.

Yeah be cause of price I can't do much variants outside black Spidey and brown wolverine.

I hope we can get a gray ghost and eventually Christmas joker would be nice.

They need to stagger releases. Christmas season was wild.

Ventriloquist & Scarface would be a great release from Mondo! I can just imagine all of the Scarface head expressions now. And knowing them, they'd include a 'bullet-ridden' version of Scarface as the exclusive.

And just them being an old geeky guy holding a mini mafia ventriloquist doll made such a good decoration piece.

Same here, I bought Lightning Strike Batman from McFarlane for nostalgia as I had the original Kenner one and it was 25.00 - but I wouldn't spend 2-300 on a Lightning Strike Batman by Mondo

They've already done some variant repaints with the Noir versions of Batman, Mr. Freeze and Joker

The Freeze was close enough to the original that I bought it instead of spending a ton on the OG version

At the price point I couldn't justify variants. And I think most feel that way. I mean the noir versions on BBTS are actually limited to 1000 pieces each and have been sitting around for almost a year on their website. The only one worthwhile is Freeze because he is so hard to get and hey we might get a new one according to their Toytalk.
