should i laugh or cry? mamma mia adam, what have you done here...

My god adam thats is just the most amazing likeness I have ever seen, I would love to get my hands on this to paint it :(

Adam, the tip of the nose, the cartilage dip just above the nostril, is the only thing I can see that could be improved (and the shadows in the reference may be deceiving). You've already heard and responded to that, so I'd like instead to dwell on what makes this so special. This is the first Bale that's gotten the depth of his eye sockets and the folds of his lids just right. I don't think anyone's gotten the eyes perfectly before -- not Hot Toys, and not Kai. Those were very good portraits, but not as good as this.

I'm not sure how I feel about the hair comments. I've always thought one of your stylistic signatures is that while the skin surfaces are very crisp, the hair is always soft. This seems to me to be simply a different take from other sculptors, and perhaps a desire to re-think something that's becoming automatic. Grooved sculpted hair is visually very engaging -- it's a pleasure just to look at it -- but it can suggest thicker locks than the subject really has. Painters often soften the hairline to create the sort of line you've already got here. So I'd say follow your own instincts. The appeals for the more familiar treatment may be exactly what will make you less like yourself and more like everybody else.

Besides DeviantArt, there is a sculptors forum at The Clubhouse, and though the emphasis there is on full garage kits, you'll draw plenty of interest, and perhaps make some new friends who have advice. Keep posting.

ooohhh ohhh very very interested in having one. Count me in!

Awesome sculpt and paint job!! One question though, have you considered either a) sculpting the neck to match the batsuit neck guard or b) omitting the neck and perhaps putting a thin metal piece underneath so it can magnetize to the DX neck post?

That's a photoshop paint job actually - Adam's paint apps are usually far better than that!

Oh, well then i cant wait to see the final product! I have to still definitely say that this is perhaps "the" best sculpt ive ever seen. IMHO Imaresqd1 sculpt defintely rivals Kai Studios head sculpt by leaps and bounds

yah, that bale was my first portrait, I was a senior in high school at that point, and here I am in my fourth year of college...time flies

This is the best christian bale sculpt ive ever seen. Incredible!

Beautiful work again Adam... you're really producing some amazing work.

HT needs to bring you on board :clap

Have to say, although the third pic one is literally perfect, there is something about the WIP that I prefer. Not sure why.

Absolutely immense stuff though.
