Re: 1/6 COMMANDO/RED HEAT ~ elämän merimies WIP Custom kitbash

Yeah, they sure are! His Commando is awesome! One of the best I've ever seen. I definitely want to make me one now. Commando was, and still is one of my favorite Arnold movies. I like the Ivan Danko from Red Heat too! Were you going to make him that green suit he wore once he got to Chicago with Jim Belushi? I think that'd look cool too. :clap

Re: 1/6 COMMANDO/RED HEAT ~ elämän merimies WIP Custom kitbash

nice ivan. Can you post a list of what you used. Where did you get the jacket insignia set?

Re: 1/6 COMMANDO/RED HEAT ~ elämän merimies WIP Custom kitbash

Kari! Thanks for helping me put together my Commando figure! You really were a big big help and inspiration to do this as I've also been a big fan of both Arnold and that movie for many years! Most of the items I followed from your recipe as best I could, but others I had to improvise, etc. I changed the body as I was afraid of a rubber body ripping over time and I wanted to pose this figure with arms bent, etc. I've added binoculars and claymores to give him that look with all his crap after just suiting up! I still need to finish up some details like the little pocket on the knife, extra buttons on the pouches, etc. I also have no idea how to do the knives at the back, but I'm satisfied with how he looks for the most part. Again, many thanks for your help! Now I might have to do a Red Heat after seeing yours! Wow! You rule!

@Tys1977- I decided to use the T1 body as it seems to be the most muscular body so far aside from the Chris Redfield rubber bodies. Again, I wanted something more poseable. This figure has a big ass, so be careful when looking for pants for this figure and many will not fit! I was lucky that I found one that fit just right.
@No*Dice- Thanks for the kind words! Again, I have to thanks Kari/elaman merimies for helping me on this and getting me inspired to start this project. It has been a lot of fun! You can find the recipe for his figure which I used as much as possible on the first page of this thread! This is his thread, so I'd better not take away anymore from his spot light! :wink1:

@ elämän merimies Great work and very inspiering to do the same with other figures as well. The rocket launcher is such a nice item to the figure!

Trying to steal my thread, eh? :rotfl

you're welcome, I was glad to help.
You duplicated my little mishab though. The left arm camo is actually different from the right one.
As the movie uses a lot of flipped imagery it's actually very easy to miss. I cant even fix mine cause the color is too deep in the rubber... Never-the-less yours is lookin' good. Neo too. That's actually the best looking Neo I've seen in a long time... Also glad to see the T1 arm bend so close to the pose I (too) was initially aiming at. Just kinda pointless for me to pose the rubber body like that :(

Oh and thnx for the encouragement regarding the RH Ivan figure, but there's still something really bugging me about it...

Re: 1/6 COMMANDO/RED HEAT ~ elämän merimies WIP Custom kitbash

Kari,

No way! It's because of your thread that I was even able to make my Commando figure in the first place! I'm so glad you were also able to help along the way. I also checked out T800's custom figure for other ideas as it was hard to see what was going on with your figure in your pics. Like I said, the whole back side is a mystery to me, so I've left out the knives for now. As for the camo on the arms, I figured they weren't accurate, but I liked how they looked and helped bring out the muscles, so I went with it. I didn't feel like studying the movie too closely for that, but maybe I should have? Still, I'm happy how it came out in the end.
The rubberized body looks the best, but I just feared that it might fall apart on me one day. I'm sure it should be fine as long as you don't leave it in a locked pose with any bending for display. I liked the bent arm pose with the gun over the shoulder and after putting so much work into it, I didn't want to worry about anything falling apart over time.
Anyhow, looking forward to seeing more of Ivan soon. I have no idea what's bugging you about it, but from what I can see from the few pics, he looks pretty awesome to me. Thanks again for all!

I liked the idea of making this figure, but in reality it seems almost too simple? Kinda dull even.
Really hard to get decent pics of it, since there's not much going on, but I'll give it a try.

Obviously the jacket & hat are a bit wrong, but those are the best I could find.
Body is just a buffed up TT (bubble wrap + ducktape), HT Arnie body would've been a waste + a very tight fit clothes wise.

I hope I can still figure out how to make the ID-badge for him. It might give me a few options posing wise...

MORE PICS COMING SOON! IF THERE'S ENOUGH INTREST... SEEMS I'M KINDA LAZY NOWADAYS.

Wow! Love your customs! I definitely must give this one a shot as I still have an extra T1 head and those parts don't seem too difficult to put together as the Commando! I think the only problem I might have is with the insignias... Could you explain more about how you did that and what materials you used? I'm even more lazy than you, so it's easier just to copy from the best! Haha...! If you could even sell a set, let me know how much it would cost, etc. I told you, I'm lazy...! Again, thanks for showing us your cool custom and providing the parts you used! This should be another fun project to try and hopefully much easier! :)
