DiD originally showed a cutaway PLSS (back-pack) that would have gone to justify somewhat the high price but it appears that isn't an option anymore.

To be honest, aside from the fabric on the moon boots, the moon base and possibly a few details, these don't look much more detailed than the original DML/Dragon releases from over a decade ago. I think DML's sold for around $50 bucks. Hard to justify the price leap.

Can't decide whether to get Armstrong, Armstrong and Aldrin, or skip altogether. Want to see more pics, price is really up there especially for DID.

Dunno. Lately it feels like all these 1/6 companies are incrementally conditioning me to accept higher and higher prices while quality remains static if not subpar.

I want Armstrong but I can feel my wallet balking.

It has been a gradual process, but as collectors we have proved them correct, personnally getting a bit sick of it all. ..amount of stuff i preordered is dropping because i cant trust prototypes or quality, thats beside the creeping rise of most figures.

I won't preorder. Which is good because they'll make fewer.

But I need an Armstrong on my desk. Nothing in our lifetime is or will be more historically significant that that first walk on another body in space. Nothing.

That said, I'm not spending $350 to memorialize it with a 10 year old figure. Maybe I need to wait for the 55th anniversary?

I feel the same way.

It's still there. The list of accessories includes:

Oxygen Purge System with detailed internal structure
Portable Life Support System with detailed internal structure and hose x 5
Remote Control Unit with cover and hose
Hasselblad 70mm Camera
Pressure valve
Watch
Moon surface base stand

Armstrong didn't wear his Speedmaster on the moon but I'll display him with it anyway.

Well I initially wanted all 3, then said I'm out after seeing the price. Strongly considering just ordering Armstrong seeing as how everyone except DiD is selling them for only $299. Would have liked to complete the set but I guess 1 is better than none.

I feel the same, as well. I'm also moving closer towards a serious consideration of selling off many of my figures. Display space has long been filled to capacity and I've got too many figures still in their packaging, yet to see the light of day. I feel it is ridiculous to have that much money invested and not be able to even enjoy them.

That is definitely a big plus. Thanks for the info.

I'm ok with the price, but how is the quality on these DID figures? Is it fairly high-end, or do the outfits look a bit cheap in hand like on a typical third party figure? Never bought anything from them before so not sure what to expect.

Haha are these even officially licensed? I just figured they were "lookalikes"

If they're not officially licensed then the price really is outrageous.

:lol Someone did exactly this to the entire front cover of my friend's notebook as a joke when I was in junior high. Makes me laugh even now because ironically enough he "converted" the original artwork into a rocket ship blasting off so he could continue using the notebook.

:lol a mate of mine had to do a similar thing with his backpack, but it involved turning bewbs into a hot air balloon. Aviation history ftw.

I've got a few DiD figs and quality is top notch on all of them. Good paint apps too. Definitely not out of place on a 'high end' shelf.

They like nice but to me, not $300.00+ nice.

For those that missed out on the Dragon figures, these would be the only option available.

I think I have to disagree these look really nice to me. The portraits are nicely sculpted, I think some of the likeness issue is from the paint. I think given the price point however, I do not think I would want to go in on all three of them.

Are these figures officially licensed? I feel like some expense could be going into that, but I am not sure if that is the case here.

Those pictures above look great! Thanks for posting those.

I just want one, helmet would be on, so other than the name tag it doesn't really matter who is under the helmet. Armstrong is my first choice obviously (like everyone else) but I'd be fine with Aldrin as well. Collins is missing something since he didn't go down -- maybe no moon boots, no pack? Not sure why he's $40 less unless he's missing something.

I believe he gets the boring white boots as pictured, the less detailed helmet, and I'm guessing no pack.

I'm leaning toward just getting Armstrong, if it was a more agreeable $250 I already would have ordered.

Yeah, the price has kept me from POing.

I definitely want the full first-step moon gear. I like the gold visor look -- just this faceless bloated suit standing there on the lunar surface -- alien.

I'm imagining a triangle of figures...fully suited Armsrong planting the flag, spaceman Stan Lee waving to him, and the SW Spacetroopers with one guy pointing at him.
