I would never ever sale my mark 1 war machine or mark6 iron man.. to me they are the definitive versions of those characters.. can’t wait to have them posed along side the infinity war iron man and war machine be great was to show the evolution of their amazing suits!!

I know everybody is probably talking about the punisher war machine, but I finally got my hands on a brand new War machine Diecast Mark 1!

I absolutely love this, this is a beast!

How are you guys posing your war machines? Do you place it next to the mark 6 and whiplash? or do you place it together with other war machines?

Mine is posed with AoU Mark 2 and Mark 3. I have his arms outstretched, mounted gun pointing one way and head looking the other.

It's a solid shelf.

Congrats on picking up this figure. It's, in my opinion, the best War Machine there'll ever be! Comic-accurate and a complete tank. Sure the Mk III is nice (a solid blend between Mk I and Mk II) and the IV looks dope (I will for sure be picking that one up too) but nothing compares to the original!

How much were you able to snag him for? Did you end up paying crazy after-market prices?

I bought online from a online collectibles store in South Africa called https://vamersstore.com/ for 630 USD including shipping.
To ease the pain on the wallet, I did a payment plan of 9 months and finally got it today.

Vamersstore in South Africa was the only online store that had it in stock at a reasonable price. I did not want to go ebay.

Now looking at the beautiful figure now, I'm very happy with how things turned out.

Wowza, good on ya for biting the bullet! The figure really is incredible, so I'm sure you have absolutely no regrets on the hefty premium you paid. Glad you're enjoying it, it truly is a masterpiece.

Congrats on the purchase... awesome piece! I pose mine in a pretty standard pose with the Mark 6 (I've since changed the Mark 6 pose, cause this one looked awkward...)

Very nice. I passed on this back when I tried to convince myself that I didn't need diecast versions of figures I already had. Plus it came out when I had a lot of stuff in the pipeline. Every so often I check prices on eBay, but I've pretty much accepted the fact that it's not going to happen. I have all of my newer diecast IMs (Mk IV, V, VI, XLV, XLVI and Hulkbuster) displayed in a separate cabinet across the room from my other Marvel figures, so relatively speaking my original plastic War Machine still looks pretty bad*ss. But still a big step below this fellow.

Nice pictures...

I'm really debating whether its worth getting to the Whiplash Mark 2 Diecast, so I could "complete" the trio of final battle of Iron Man 2.

The original one is still awesome. If I had had it, I probably wouldn't spend the extra money to get the diecast versions. By all accounts yes the diecast ones have improvements, but if you don't have them standing side by side, you may not even know there's a difference. Kind of like owning all of the various SS and HT Darth Vaders. Side by side, there are noticeable differences, but on their own they tend to look pretty awesome.
I never owned any of the plastic ones, simply as they didn't fit in my collection. But I've always loved the comic design of War Machine, so when they announced the diecast one, I found myself constantly looking at it. Then (without going into too many details) I had the opportunity to get it for free, and when that happened, I felt I HAD to have an Iron Man to go with him. My preferred design is the Mark 3, followed by the Mark 4 (as I felt they more closely resembled the comic look), but I went with the Mark 6 because I thought the triangular arc reactor window would play off nicely against the round one on WM.

Translation: You stole one!

Hey guys, is putting three diecast iron man figures on the same level of a detolf considered too heavy?
Part of me gets a little nervous that I'm putting too much weight. The war machine mark 1 alone with the stand feels so friekin' heavy...

I just saw another member on the forum post a pic on the mark 46, 47, and CA mark 46 on the same detolf level, so I guess its normal?

The IKEA website says Detolfs have a max load of eight pounds per shelf. I don’t know the exact weights of those figures and their stands, but I seem to recall hearing that War Machine MKI is about 3 pounds. If I had to guess, I would guess you were getting pretty close to the limit. You could always weight your figures.

Personally, I would not put three die cast Iron Man figures on the same shelf. I am very cautious about this sort of thing, as I’ve seen heartbreaking examples of overloaded Detolfs destroying collections. I’ve never heard of sixth scale figures causing a Detolf to break, but anything could happen with enough weight.

I always kept my Iron Man figures on the bottom shelf. Recently I set up a Klingsbo, which claims a max shelf load of 55 pounds, to house my Iron Man figures and my Gladiator Hulk. I find the 55 pound claim difficult to believe, but as long as it’s a little sturdier than the Detolf, it should be adequate.

Like you, I wanted to display my WM MKI and IM MK VI together, and the only way I could do that and sleep soundly was by buying a sturdier display. That might have been unnecessarily cautious, but who knows. If you do want a Klingsbo, they’re fairly cheap.

Finally aquired this guy, hes pretty great overall but a few issue I have are the hands and the way the hamd guard is formatted, mk 3 did this better. The hands are actually the now Very old Mk 3 fists. And lastly the calf pieces that magnetize, there was originally supposed to be a feature where they drop down to recreat WM taking flight, and the feature is even in the official photos, but its not mentioned in the instructions and the magners dont hold well enough to stay on when I try to lower them, not a major issue but a small bummer. Really glad I have it now, but room for improvement

Hello Saintv, Thanks for your input. I'm very interested in your iron man / gladiator klingsbo setup - can you share us a pic?

Ha, I didn’t realise the reason for those panels being removeable.
One thing I wish this figure had was rotatable forearms, it would really help getting the arm guns into a better position.
