I bought the old first Tom Baker figure at a local convention. Now, what do I do about the weird Andy Kaufman-esque headsculpt?!

i think when it comes to resin printing you will always have little marks especially where the supports are, ive had some heads form them with similar scratches. it is easily fixable with some 'liquid green stuff'. you get similar issues with most resin 3d printed heads as the supports are sometimes tricky to remove.

I'm usually OK if I paid like $20 on a sculpt on ebay. But they're selling these for $100 a piece after shipping. For that price I expect them to fix any defects before they ship it to me.

I have finally finished my 1/6 custom 6th doctor, using the prototype big chief head which i bought from Kitbash Corner. The clothes were purchased unleashed viper commisions on facebook and the shoes are a pair of custom 3D sculpted shoes designed by myself.

(the Boots are available from my Cults 3D if anyone is interested - the_eccentric_polymath on Cults3d)
Looks great! Do you mind if I ask how much the clothes were?

Sorry for not responding sooner, the costume was about £140 i beleive, the seller also makes a season 22 waistcoat but i didnt think it was as acurate as id like so opted for the season 23 one, this did also come with 2 cravats of differing blue shades which was nice.

Thanks for the response. That price seems beyond reasonable. I wish they had some way of contacting them outside of social media. After all these years, I can’t believe I have to consider joining Facebook 😳

I am having Unleashed Viper make a season 18 Tom Baker coat which they will probably make available to everyone when done. I will send you their contact email. They also have the S18 shirt and vest already available for $75 (shipping included).

Gee Whiz has the S18 coat separately (apart from the complete $650 costume set) but is $300 plus $125 shipping - additional charge if you send a specific body for them to tailor it to.

Thank you for the contact info!
I had looked into Gee Whiz’s who outfits too, but they’re way out of my range. Unleashed Viper’s stuff looks just as satisfying to me.

I had my eye on a knitted 1/6 s18 scarf for a while, but the person who made them was in Russia. After Ukraine they stopped shipping to the US, so I missed out. I need to focus on the Doctors I’m missing anyway.

Thanks again. Please post pics of s18 TB when you get him put together

Thanks Polymath for your posts and info! I was unaware of Unleashed Viper and will check into them. Nice to see some good custom work that seems very reasonable, price-wise.
Thanks everyone for sharing your efforts!

If your looking for someone who does a good 4th doctor scarf i would highly reccomend 'AtelierMarieLouise' on etsy, i had them make me a season 13 4th doctor scarf and they did an absolutely wonderfull job, they are also very nice to talk with as i had it done as a commission peice and required alot of discussion.

Nice!!! Thanks so much for this.
Cheers!

Hi everyone, a small update on AtelierMarieLouise they have contacted me to say they are no longer doing 4th doctor scarves and will not be taking commisions for them.

if anyone else knows an alternative that would be greatly appreciated

This was my set up at one time. I have gotten rid of all three figures but replaced with Sideshow Superman with C. Reeves head, SMDM Steve Austin hunter figure, and now 10th doctor (again). I sold that TARDIS in the pics which I regret. It was an awesome custom. It was only the front which is great for saving space on the shelf. The windows and sign are backlit. I could make one but just finding the time is difficult.
What other changes did you make? I see you switched the shirt. I've gotten a light blue one ordered which hopefully will be here soon after Christmas. Also ordered some sunglasses.
Excellent posing btw. Very natural and doctor-like.
Yep, that was mine. I put 20 ED'S in it.
