So Kit reached out to Eternal Toys on my behalf and it turns out there are two battery compartments on each wing and only one has the switch. I was looking at the battery only compartment, completely oblivious to there being a second- but I can blame the lack of clarity in their instructions to stop myself feeling like a complete fool.
Here’s what you’re looking for
So, I thought that was the end of my troubles (minus the snapped acrylic wing support) but then I turned my rotors on…
They said maybe there’s some dirt in it or the batteries are too weak…
Whatever- it was a nice try but they don’t work and I don’t really need them to. Think I would have preferred lights coz at least you can get a few photos with them enhancing the look.
Watching Justin’s video on Toys Era’s Vulture, here’s where each figure shines-
Toys Era’s
- Body- the arms actually move!
- Head sculpt & helmet
- Endoskeleton design, Harness straps, detachable handles & the wing to body connection method
- Accurate Wing details. TE’s also look more razor like whereas ET’s are quite chunky
- Blaster
- Electronics- lights are all great
Eternal Toys
- Weighted grid base
- Jacket- 2nd best thing about ET
- Wing shape, articulation and dry-brushing effect- best thing about ET
- Purple jet effect
- Cargo pants- as the TE ones look a bit tight.
- How they’ve concealed the battery compartments. I’d never have found them on the wings or blaster without guidance and TE uggoed up one side of the rotors with their way.
Neither nailed the flexible rod. Both companies went too short and neither found a way to conceal all the support required to hold the wings.
The two long rods with waist grabbers method I was forced to throw together has actually produced a better result imo.
I’m looking forward to someone else finally getting a hold of this to compare experiences.
