Re: Movie accurate 1/6 Joker socks

also the ties are thinner and regular ties. The tie is a green tie, but has lots of brown in it due to the weathering.

Interesting to know. Thanks. So you weathered a t&a to make it appear more brown? Or you reworked the other one? Which one would be the best to start for the 1/6?
Definitly will buy the t&a for me than... Thanks again!

I'd say the one on the right is closer.

I would agree. But if Lance says left is the original, it might be better to start with that it and weather it to brown, as the result I see above in 1/1 scale is absolutly stunning.

I'm soooo in for a good Tie KG! Hau rein :hi5:

Ich hatte dich eh auf dem Zettel. Brauch irgendwann nochmal deine Adresse, dann schicke ich dir jeweils ein Muster. ;)

Gotta say I was never worried about the accuracy of my Joker socks... but still some very impressive work! And given some of the crazy prices I've seen for custom work the price is fair.

Congrats on seeing this through :duff

Thanks man. I really appreciate those comments. :duff

look what I've started!!! :lol

like Brad Pitt says in Inglorious Bastards

"business is a-boomin'" for you KG

first the awesome socks, and now the greater possibility of an accurate tie! Gippetto = :)

Yes buddy. You made my day. :lol Maybe something for our trade? :wave:wink1:

Re: Movie accurate 1/6 Joker socks

the green one is the actual one he wore in the film. I did hours and hours of research on the joker outfit for the 1/3 scale project bob is working on. The turnbull and asser tie was weathered by me and looked 100% identical. I do not have any more pics but it looked identical. The one on the right is a tie made by indy magnoli which was designed to look close to how the tie looked in the film but is way off. If you look closely the tie is green, but has a weathered look giving it a brown look to it in certain areas. Also because the film has a blue filter on it the tie also picks up some blues, but it is not blue at all.

^ Couldn't have said it better myself.

Still trying to hunt down a genuine T&A one to this day. :(

I know turnbull and asser in New york has them and they will ship overseas. I would email them as I believe they were 175 USD

Re: Movie accurate 1/6 Joker socks

Thanks lance! :)

Last I heard was the run was all sold out and no more were produced. Wil have to see.

Re: Movie accurate 1/6 Joker socks

Thanks again for the info. :)

I am planning on completely rehauling my Joker costume, (non nurse one), so need that and then some Magnoli pieces.

Re: Movie accurate 1/6 Joker socks

I'd be in for a tie as well and agree with Lforigno's assessment on which one is more accurate - personally though i'd like a tie that looks screen accurate (so how it looked through the blue filter and with weathering).

Re: Movie accurate 1/6 Joker socks

^agreed. For this scale, I'd rather start with a tie that resembled what we saw on screen without worrying about filters or weathering.

Agree with both void and pennyworth...this goes back to my argument of screen accuracy vs costume accuracy. I'd rather not have to do the weathering and what not myself :lol

Re: Movie accurate 1/6 Joker socks

Just wanted to give a little update:

Positive first: successfully passed my exams. Not as good as I wanted but who cares?! Im done with this part of my studies now. :rock

Negative: Still waiting for the fabric. Guess I will have to look for another printer in future projects. Simply needs to long. On the other hand the quality is really nice. :duno
I am hoping to get the fabric asap. When it finally will arrive I will immediatly finish the socks.
I will post of the final socks tonight. Camera is already loading. :)

Re: Movie accurate 1/6 Joker socks

You can always jump on the list but as you might see when you have checked the last posts, there went something wrong here as I promised pics of the final socks.
To be honest I have some family issues that keep me away from SSF for a few days or weeks now.
All I can say is that I will be posting pics asap further will do the socks asap too. BTW The fabric did not make it here yet either. :dunno

Re: Movie accurate 1/6 Joker socks

Hope your family issues are not too serious King. :(

All the best and thanks for the update.

Re: Movie accurate 1/6 Joker socks

Hope everything works out KGS. I do think about the socks from time to time, but just get them done when you can. My nurse is getting by just fine with the Medi socks. :)

Re: Movie accurate 1/6 Joker socks

Add me for the full socks too buddy! My nurse will need that! :D
