1/6 Hot Toys Alien: Romulus - Rain Carradine

This is a nice surprise, I watched Romulus in theatres and had a fun time with it. Rain and Andy were the standouts alongside the thrilling set pieces and gorgeous practical effects. The only real issues I had with the film were the poor callbacks, you know which ones.

I think the likeness is strong in these pictures but damn I'll have to echo what others said, I can't stop seeing Ellie from The Last of Us video games too. It's crazy that we live in a world where Cailee auditioned for that role and somehow lost it to Bella Ramsey, who is just horribly miscast. The tradeoff is we'll hopefully get Cailee leading the sequels to Romulus, Rain has a lot of potential as a character and could be on track to become modern day Ripley.

Speaking of Ellie. Any new updates on the LIM last of us figures? We are starving

Man of Hot Collectibles quoted his source again, saying HT are "working on Andy" and "potentially the Offspring", and "Ellen Ripley from Aliens...my source told me that they're also working on Alien Queen." Also the "power loader".

I’ll take all of that if indeed true.

If they make the Offspring, they should make another Rain as well to pair with that, either this look (my preferred):

I’m kinda glad there doesn’t seem to be any rumors at doing a ‘79 Ripley 2.0 heh.

And a huge shame they haven’t done any Prometheus figures. It was my introduction to the franchise (not knowing anything about anything) and is my second favorite film in the franchise (behind Alien ofc). I’d kill for Shaw and David.

Yeah I don't know that I'd buy a Hot Toys Queen Alien now. I might feel differently if I saw it and they actually made an accurate one but right now I think I'm good with the NECA Queen and Powerloader combo.

The marines though. I wouldn't turn those down.

Bit mixed with this. I was disappointed with the film and didn’t like it enough to justify buying more than the Xenomorph (movie was meh but I like the Xeno design).
True, Rain and Andy were the only characters I remotely liked from the film and the 2 I have any clear memories of (all the others were forgettable non characters. Can't remember any of their names) but if I got Rain and they do actually make Andy, I'd need to get him too, and I'd end up with a 3 figure display from a film I just don't care enough about to justify it.
And the costume isn't the most exciting. I think you'd have to particularly like the character, or the actress perhaps, to get this and I'm not sure I liked Rain that much.
Still, I'd be pleased to see it actually get made and released. More figures from HT that aren't Star Wars or superheroes the better.

Not only did they copy Ellie’s hair style and some clothing. They brought in the fact she likes bad jokes just like Ellie. They live in Jackson just like Ellie. Her best female friend looks just like Ellie’s friend/girlfriend so much so she is playing Dina in the last of Us series! There is a character that looks just like Lev in the last of us part 2.

Any other influences? It’s so very obvious the creators of Romulus heavily inserted as much of the last of us part 2 as they could into the film. It’s kinda cool but also kinda lazy?

I agree she would be a better fit for Ellie in the tv series. I cannot believe Bella doing the things Ellie does in part 2. She just looks too young (despite being old enough).

It seems like 50% of the potential buyers want to kit bash this figure .
