Wait...what????? Far more basic? Luke comes with a blaster, a lightsaber, weapon belt, flight jacket over the existing flight suite, 9 extra hands and...oh...an extra head......

And by you this is considered MORE basic then this figure with it's two acid blood spatters? Where am I....Who are you people.....what is going on here??????

Well, everything is unique sculpts here. Not a standard body.
It's a lot of money every time though...

I suspect they've watched NECA's steady sales for the ALIEN and PRED licenses. A lot of high-end collectors buy mass market because that's where their hobby started anyway. Unfortunately, I do feel that for each of us that does not purchase this Rubber Warrior we're hurting our chances of getting Ripley or another Marine...

There's no winning here.

Fair point,and Alien queen though.

It looks similar, but not identical. Big Chap's body is more elongated than the Warrior. Most of the same structure is there though, just a slightly different proportion it seems.

Really cool how the actual figure shifts between brown and blue depending on the lighting. That's smart, Hot Toys. Good job.

Ah, Aliens came out in 1986, so the 30th anniversary is why they're doing this... I get it now. I guess it's a good thing they aren't redoing the Space Marines and Newt and offering a 1/6 scale Queen, because then I'd have to sell all my Avengers figures so I could do a kickass 3-level diorama of the Hadley's Hope complex on LV-426... I've been seriously itching to do a diorama of that for some time now, top level would be ground with the tank, next level the gantries with space marines, and bottom level would be Queen and egg chamber... all sculpted diorama, no posters (with exception of maybe sky and little posters here and there as needed ot add more depth). Oh man, I'd be in serious financial trouble if Hot Toys started taking this license seriously, so I'm relieved they're not! :lol Good news for my wallet!

Which is also why Neca and Jakks are planning huge lines this year

this was a really nice suprise! Bodes well for Ripley finally seeing the light of day, and I'd for sure be down for an upgrade on the original Alien

I have 2 on preorder now with the hopes of atleast a Ripley figure to display with. I don't expect 2.0's of all the marines, but Hudson, Hicks, and Vasquez would be just fine for me.

If it were the 1.0 release then I'd get it.
However, with what HT can achieve nowadays....this is a pass for me.
Sucks, because l own all of the previous alien related releases. At this price, and at this stage....NECA will get my money.
