Figure looks great but the fact that the articulation doesn't allow for it to crouch is a dealbreaker IMO. Standing straight up was a Big Chap thing.

I have this on preorder at SS -- got in before the NRD -- and had figured I would be cancelling this once in-hand pics surfaced...

But now, I think I'll be completing my order. (though I'd love to find this cheaper somewhere)


I wonder, given the fact that this came out so quickly, if this is a small run by HT standards?

This looks fantastic but for some reason I'm not super GA Ga . Don't know why ? Maybe it's to little to late . I'm at the end game of collecting Hot toys figures . The original brown version of this was my very first Hot Toys that started it all for me . It's been a long time since then . Guess I'm just getting old or board .

I'm definitely in the same boat with collecting. It is hard sometimes to see the new, shiny figures because they are all amazing in their own way and are well crafted collectibles. For me I definitely buy to the nostalgia factor (old movies or characters i like). But even than, I'm selective to certain characters as it can really add up both space wise and money wise. For example, I'm into Star Wars but have stuck to Vader, Fett, Stormtrooper. I don't need various versions of a Stormtrooper and didn't need to upgrade my SS Vader or Fett (tho I did get the 1/4 scale). With Alien, I'm a fan but not the biggest. I loved the first movie and so wanted a Big Chap. Neca 1/4 scale does me fine.

I'm pretty selective as to what I'd buy now/want:

Delorean
Robocain
1/4 Vader
1/4 Stormtrooper

And I've bought all the characters I want. I only have one figure that I didn't need to buy (Starboost) but otherwise it's a tight collection. I find it neat to go over my collection every so often to appreciate what I do have. I did a top ten figures post, tho I didn't get many posts back. I really wanted to see others collections. Check out my post haha. That's the main point I'm trying to get across [emoji81][emoji81][emoji81]

like the mouth can fully close this time around. have a feeling that part goes to snap city first.lolz

I would have liked to have seen Hot Toys give us some type of translucent rubber/silicone/plastic mouth goo/saliva dripping effect.

I am definately going for it! I have send an email to hot toys asking for a big chap 2.0. It is actualy in their 2016 catalogue so I cross my fingers for it too. Of course ripley os comming home too

This does look pretty damn cool, and is a lot more affordable than I was expecting (from the pics and the size I was expecting it to be more like $350).

Still not sure it's a figure I really need to have though, especially when I have so many others to get this year.

HK sellers have put this up on eBay for around 270USD (I'm guessing early stock from Japanese exclusive sales etc.)

Nope. The head alone on the 1979 version is completely different. You can see a human like skull under a clear dome...

It looks good but a pass at the moment. Just wish there was an announcement for a new Hicks figure. Then this one would be an immediate pre-order.

Looks like "Alien" Ripley is it for me, so far. She'll be posed next to BC.

Man i want this but i dont know how this month and next month will play out for my finances. I have scarlet witch and avp elder po'ed through sideshow with a deposit, so i have to get those 1st. This thing is a little pricier than i would like too.
