The 'smile' is correct. HT did great with this figure. The lack of articulation is the price of it being seamless which is an ok choice that they made. Also it's the opposite choice from last issue which makes it stand out from the previous. So you can own both and find both great in each their way. Can't really find anything to complain about here.

It seems as though HT tried to mimic the dual color effect of the film. That is, brown Alien suits that appear blue under the proper lighting. Looks like the original paint app on this thing is earthy tones with a pearlescent blue coating that disappears as more light is shined on. Reduce the light and the bluish tint takes over.

Shame the brown isn't in the right places (nor very high in contrast). Very cool approach nonetheless. Definitely more creative than going with a single tint for the whole figure or, like NECA, using both brown and blue.

Well jim cameron likes the color blue so it makes sense the film has a blue tint or filter throughout.

Just watched the clipper review - the poses he got from it are actually a lot better than I had thought was possible after every other review and pic I've seen.

But the feet fall off?! Just like the old figure, which as I recall was incredibly frustrating.

Haha yeah I'm pretty happy with the Neca 1/4 alien I have. Not saying the Hot Toys isn't amazing, but I'm pretty satisfied.

if they were in 1/6, i'd prefer them. i have severar small Neca aliens, they are magnificient, but my 1/6 human & predators need alien companions

hmmm i'm thinking about cutting rubber and glueing it to the skeleton in all critical places like elbows, knees, hips.
cannot understand what happened to shoulders and why people say hands cannot go to sides.

The Big Chap had stiff shoulders too. I think it's the hard plastic ribcage/shoulder ridges and the shoulder joint sits too high within that opening. Damn shame. You'd think you'd at least be able to extend the arms for a basic crucifix pose.

well, i guess i won't even notice that it cannot wave its hands in the air, because i never tried it with previous version.

@BatBrain: Thanks for posting my vid review here.

Overall i'm very impressed but i can't compare it to the first versions, we have to wait for the comparison video of DeanKnight - he'll get us all the facts. It's hard to describe the "flexible plastic suit" they used on the body, legs and arms - it's bendy but does not feel rubbery. So the impression is that it might hold up better over time - but maybe in 2 - 3 years we're getting back in this thread here only to see bad reports...you never know.

I still dont get why the rubber jaw area is a different color than the rest of the figure, it looks odd.
