They also might be waiting on InArt for any chance to make later changes, they did it with their Pattinson Batman so why not this. It's also almost 2 years away from release InArt can definitely announce and put up for PO their version next year and HT will take notes and make the necessary changes. If anything the body proportion and suit color possibly need changing. Once they do it will be maybe 90-95% accurate.
Because maybe that's the big brain move. Sort of like what INART might be doing with their early prototypes at conventions. Hot Toys shows their announcement ahead of time and then waits for INART to show theirs. Hot Toys then gets to post an "update" to this figure to make it seem like they listened and adjusted based on feedback when they already had the changes in the works.
I look at it as they're stubborn as hell and are having difficulty adapting in that manner, it's also probably ego on the side of Howard thinking we the collectors will accept any minor changes to their new figures that aren't real changes. Hopefully they get out of that mindset and start to make better choices and achieve better results to rival InArt's growing popularity. If that even is the case, that's the problem I'm referring to. Why wait? Why not give a homerun from the get go and lead the way again? They already know what the competition is capable of. Instead, with that kind of move, HT is being reactionary and the criticisms of them aping IA will continue to persist. People will continue to wait instead of immediately preordering or getting both. You pointed out two things need changing on this and those are 2 reasons why I'm holding back as well. They should have learned from Pattinson Batman if anything.
Or release a Returns Catwoman and Penguin. Or maybe do the Panther suit. It's a smart move by Hot Toys to put the solicitations out now while InArt is still months behind from revealing their version. It caters to the demand and most likely allows collectors a quicker, more affordable, option.
Other than Aquaman: TLK, new DC content won't be available until 2025. Hot Toys really has no choice but to revisit older releases and spending the time to update them.
Bc Snyderverse is actually greater than any flop they are baking rn and suits are superior than anything in this genre which makes merchandise more appealingThey always say Zack Snyder's vision is only for the minority.. but HT is really milking this line....
multiple WW, multiple batfleck, "kinda multiple" supes...
Let's all agree to disagree...Bc Snyderverse is actually greater than any flop they are baking rn and suits are superior than anything in this genre which makes merchandise more appealing
This will never never ever happen. This is relevant to us 1/6 collectors imo: I think Netflix is most likely in negotiations to get Zack’s versions of the characters licensed to them to develop. If so, we’ll see more figures for sure. Rationale is as follows:
WBD is deep, deep in the red and has recently been licensing out its DC content Very liberally. Hell, they’re licensing it out to Tubi! WBD just recently started licensing out the DCEU already to Netflix—interestingly, with the exception of BvS UE and ZSJL. So in the context of the recent statements by Netflix CEO Scott Stuber that they want the license for Zack’s versions of the characters, and now this, I would imagine that negotiations are underway. I’m sure WBD will drive a hard bargain for it, but at the end of the day it does seem to be a kind of fire sale going on with DC content currently.
Some folks still do not understand (or they’re literally bots) that this isn’t about WBD selling the IPs. WBD still owns the rights to the characters themselves for film and television. It’s about licensing Zack Snyder’s versions of the characters to someone else to develop. Money-wise this is clearly the thing to do for WBD.
The only question here is whether WBD will try to protect James Gunn’s universe by not allowing a continuing Snyderverse, namely, ZSJL 2 and 3, plus whatever else Zack might develop such as MoS 2, solo Batfleck film, solo Cyborg film, etc., because it would upstage what Gunn is launching. But WBD is super broke and their investors are reportedly really angry.
Especially if Rebel Moon blows up, I think WBD will almost have no choice but to license it out in order to keep their investors happy. So folks watch the **** out of Rebel Moon when it releases! Netflix is looking for that high level of engagement with Zack’s movies. For that matter, until then watch MoS on Netflix… and I guess the theatrical release of BvS if you can, lol.
