When Luke came for Grogu, presumably he was rebuilding the new Jedi order, pretty dang cool

Haven't watched your vid, but yeah it's not necessary to know that's what was being implied when Luke left with Grogu.
That aptly titled "The Rescue" moment, was biter sweet however, as it showed us Luke again as we knew him, still brave, powerful and hopeful.
Before the unrecognizable complete coward and failure who betrays and loses everything Luke was, of the D sequels

That moment was "The Rescue" of everything, that the Disney sequels betrayed .

Filoni- "You see your crew just staring at Mark, and you realize they are remembering what it meant to them, ...a good feeling which fundamentally Star Wars should deliver"
Indeed, knowing Hamill ^ was there for the shooting, like others makes this for me his last canon appearance :wink1: . With one instance Favreau & Filoni washed away the preposterous unrecognizable character of the sequels.

As awkward the cg was, also makes the figure all the more unique as the sculpt draws(deep fakes) from both his ROTJ, and ^Hamill's current likeness.

After watching the new making-off of the last episode of season 2, i really need the Kylo Ren prequel series or spin-off movies with Old Master Jedi Luke.

Pretty cool to see that Hamill was there. You get a good warm feeling seeing him in that proper role as the Jedi master compared to what we got from the sequels.

True.

Filoni- "You see your crew just staring at Mark, and you realize they are remembering what it meant to them, ...a good feeling which fundamentally Star Wars should deliver"

Also Just got to watch it
Didn't realize that clip and Filoni quote are more from the end.
Filoni - "Like I said, I saw the child inside Jon, as he experienced Star Wars... and you realize they are remembering what it meant to them. "

Speaking to that, and the emotions of bringing Hamill and Luke back , the doc. actually starts with:
Favreau - "You find that emotions run deep with Star Wars. And peoples relationship who grew up with it from a young age, feel a lot of connection it. ... people care deeply that it's being handled correctly and that it's being handled respectfully. ....and that it's all connected with consistency."

They also speak to the importance and emotion of putting new characters like Mando and Grogu, together with classics like Luke and R2, and how important it is to get that right for both generations to enjoy.

Something the sequels failed at horribly.

Also the whole Plo Koon deception although it never leaked (even where to some extent they were consciously deceiving themselves) even putting false info and art out there among the crew , to keep Luke's arrival a secret was great!

As far as the tec. used for Luke's likeness, after seeing it described, and broken down, between the deep fake, and the de-aging tec. it feels to me like maybe there was almost to much input being generated. And that's why the uncannynes to his face seemed (at least to me) like it was oddly fluid, always in flux, like it couldn't decide which version it wanted to be.

The Mando Luke show why the fall was so devastating for Luke in the sequels, you guys dont understand that we saw "Prequel Jedi" Luke in Mando to show how big of a legend he has become since ROTJ.

The Jedi fell to Palpatine because of the order's arrogance, and arrogance comes with the legendary status that they were given.

We all know that Star Wars is a cyclical story with the repetition of events in a poetic way.

PS: I hate TROS

It's not Luke that you see in the sequels it's his hobo twin Jake Skywalker.

That was such a great BTS of the show. Seriously good to see the duo of Favreau and Filoni as they walk the precarious line between pleasing the Disney overlords vs. Fanboy expectations and get a show out that demonstrates their obvious love and care. Having Hamill involved, getting him to dress up and meet Grogu was just beautiful.
The actual tech was incredibly interesting but the creepiest thing was the fact they could AI his younger voice.

Alright looks like it was a bad move from my end to ignite this debate.

We've been through this, there will be ppl who love TLJ and those who hate it.

Lets accept that and lets go back to discussing on how Dec 2022 can't come any sooner. :D

Yes loved the part where they show the face and voice tech and how Luke's actor really captured the character.

You mean the part where he committed suicide instead of joining the battle? There was no "redemption".
There is no point in arguing with you, we will never agree on that, lets just be happy with all kinds of Luke representation.

I never would had though about the voice synthesizer of the Mando Luke, the making off was really well done.
Now i just wanna know if we are going to see Alec Guinness in the Obiwan series with deepfake.
