Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

PLEASE, the cat should be around 2cm large... It's ok for me.

By the way, I REALLY LOVE this picture. I see real Ripley. And we must see the good things: She is the FIRST female with STRONGER expression on face.

Yep! I think we're gonna be ok.

I think that even Jonesy will look better in hand. Pretty sure this is one of those.

Let's hope so , but I'm one of the few that still prefers the rooted hair of the previous head sculpt...

I would too, IF it looked anything like the prototype, but it wouldn't. Pretty sure it would look like crap when mass produced.

Q1 2017, well by then all my other pre orders should have been filled so I should be spared from a mega sideshow bill all at once!

"Oh Billy, Ripley doesn't look perfect. Oh Billy, I just turned my Fruit of the Looms into a fudge factory..."

Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

I don't own any female HT figures and was kinda hoping that my first would have been with rooted hair. I've see. So many HT chicks with rooted hair in my travels why did the one I selected come with sculpt. Sucks but what you.....na **** it.....SUCKS!!!

Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

Why is everyone pro-rooted hair all of a sudden? I could have sworn the general trend was very much opposed to it not so long ago.

The problem is what kind of sculpted hair we have. Too many squid ink painted hair...

Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

yeah a few of my phicen female body figs with rooted hair have really 'poofed' out a lot, looks crazy! I have some kumik heads which I need to install the rooted hair piece to, so we'll see how those hold up after a while.

Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

I think the whole rooted hair thing on this Ripley figure is probably more to do with how it'll look on the shorter-haired Aliens Ripley.
If they came to the conclusion it looked bad, and went with the sculpted version, then it may have had an effect on this figure too.
It would look strange having one Ripley with rooted hair and another sculpted.

I think the PL Ripley which is supposedly forthcoming has the potential for extreme poofyness with short curly rooted hair...it will look better than molded though, that much for sure.

Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

Sometimes it is like that but sometimes someting good can be done about it :

It's long hair. It's not the same example. Ripley has curly and long hair.
