Great review as always, and it does have me leaning more towards getting this. I'm still not crazy about the headsculpt, but this appears to be another figure like Jyn where the great outfit and the overall look of the figure kind of makes up for the issues with the likeness. And of course putting it under the right lighting seems to help quite a bit as well.

Also consider the fabulous "sculpted" diorama base something HT appears to be slowly removing themselves from with these new cardboard pieces over the stands...

Would have had this review up two hours ago, however it got stuck uploading on YouTube, so I had to delete it and re-upload again. Nice right. :clap

Thank you Highlander1 for sharing. [emoji106]

I can't believe how fast you put that together. Excellent job and thanks for namedropping me in there :lol I think that may be the first time for me.

No problem man. I had to battle my wife and kids over negotiating some time today, but I got it done. Lol.

Real lacing. :)

Noticed that, too. +1 to Hot Toys for that.

And thanks for the video, I Am Toys. There was a lot of pressure to get it out, and I think a few orders were hinging upon it (!), so thanks for doing it. :)

In motion (i.e. slow turn), I'm much happier than I thought I would be - the likeness does slip in and out, but it is there on some angles. The final image in the video, taken from a short distance, bodes well: one can read an expression of fear and doubt on her face, and posed in a more reserved stance (kick-*** Ripley belongs more to Aliens) it should work well with the tracker accessory (and a 1/6 industrial 'flashlight' akin to what she uses in Alien).

Yes, I was excited to see that -- although it is a separate piece glued in place... but that's fine, the detail is there.

The figure looks far better than I had hoped. I'm excited to add her to my Nostromo astronauts and Alien. Will be a great little tribute that I don't have to worry about expanding.

A L I E N is complete.

I wonder if it's possible to pull the head up just a bit? Weaver has a long neck but in all the pics I've seen of the figure the neck seems a bit short with the head pushed down too much...

She could be taller.

I think the collar just needs to be flattened out, ironed maybe. But the neck could be longer, I noticed that too.

But all in all, when she's in a hunched, ready-to-fight pose with her flamethrower, I bet she'll look fine.

Big thanks to I Am Toys for the review. Your shot of the headsculpt tells me everything I need to know. Dunno if it's the lowered bangs, healthier-looking paint app (as opposed to the sickly look that the prototype has), or softened sculpt, but the production piece is a massive improvement.

Honestly, I think it is a different sculpt to begin with. Even without upper eyelids, it's far closer to Weaver than what was officially solicited.

Some blue tack pushed up inside her head will give her a longer neck.

And also make her taller!

Sigourney is 5' 11 1/2". As a figure she should be almost an inch taller than Margot's Harley, if both were standing barefoot. Though I didn't measure Harley to check if HT made her correct.

I can see what you mean. Like in the comparison just above.

But looking at that same comparison photo, the prototype's neck length looks a bit ridiculous. Imagine if she wasn't wearing the jumpsuit, where the shoulders would be. We're talking Barbie-level realism there. The production figure, on the other hand, would look quite realistic sans jumpsuit. The collar buffs up the shoulders, but that doesn't necessarily mean she needs a mod.

And also make her taller!

Sigourney is 5' 11 1/2". As a figure she should be almost an inch taller than Margot's Harley, if both were standing barefoot.

The Harley Quinn figure is wearing high-heeled boots and stands about as tall as Ripley, if not a few millimeters more. Without them, Ripley would easily be taller.

Okay, I took a screen grab from I Am Toys' video, and cropped it to the top of Harley's head:

Harley is 11" from where her foot would be to the top of her head, making her a perfect 5' 6" Margot Robbie height.

Felicity is 5' 3" and I think somebody already confirmed she's the correct scale.

Looks like Ripley isn't standing straight there, so she could be approaching the right height

THANKS I AM TOYS!!! Another one ordered here!! I've just wake up and the first thing I did was to see your review!!!

When is sideshow shipping her?

That's another guessing game!

Sideshow says: October to November.

ForbiddenPlanet.com (UK) says: The suppliers have confirmed a current ship date to all retailers as 30 October 2017.

ForbiddenPlanet.co.uk says: Stock on the way soon.

CollectiblesDirect.co.uk (where I paid in full May last year) says: Est 11/2017.

The honest answer is she'll get there when she gets there, depending on transport, typhoons, hurricanes and plagues of frogs.
