erm, what's with that picture? everything is the same, just terribly pictured.
open any thread about a figure that you own, go to pages with first sneak peek photos of an actual product - and compare it to what you see in your collection. it will be much worse than what you know.
these are not the kind of pictures to judge by.

I'm joking!!!! :lol

The forearms look kinda cheap for some reason?
This is a shame as the fig will most likely be posed with sleeves up. Would of been nice if HT gave us more realistic looking forearms. I remember the DX joker came with detailed forearms.
Most figs it doesn't matter as the whole of the arm is covered.
I don't have to buy another PHICEN body for your half @ssed work HT, do I?

most of my HT "human" figures are terminators, and they don't have seams on forearms.
i checked the one HT human figure i have - human Alex Murphy.
he doesn't have simple tubes with seams for forearms. he has normal forearms, with sculpted skin surface and even something like veins.
i also checked some non-HT bodies, both male and female. the ones i bought for $15-20 for kitbashes.
some of them have those seams, as they have simple tubes for forearms.
:dunno
i don't think a Phicen body would work. they are very difficult to fit in clothes - and impossible to move after that.
plus they all have ****s and hips.
=============
can anybody check any female HT figure? what if seamless 1/6 female forearms just don't exist except for rubber arms.
That photo P. shared is horribly distorted.
i didn't share any photos.

Have a friend in HK that helps me out. It's a bit of pain in the *** for him, but I throw him a few extra dollars for his trouble.

damn.
i'd pay you for a portfolio of my figures if that was possible :thud:

her face looks darker than her neck and hands, is it so IRL?

No it's pretty equal. Just the lighting on the figure and a slight tone change because of what my cam was picking up from the light.

The quality of the pictures and video is incredible. Great work, love the lighting. I wish more reviews were structured like this.

Ripley and Jonsey on the other hand, meh. I didn't think the prototype in the specs/pics were bad but the final product just looks ugly to me. Like Ellen has some kind of defect like prognathism or something. I don't know if it's the head or neck or what. I don't see why they just don't make the head and neck a conjoined sculpted piece. It's not like this character needs to show off some skin or collar bones like a Harley Quinn or something.

I'm probably the wrong person to ask. I've got like 3 female HT figs in my whole collection and 2 of them have rubber arms, Abigail Whistler & Sarah Connor. The only fig that doesn't have rubber arms is Catwomen, she has the same cheap looking arms but their covered in her gauntlets, so it does not matter how they look.

I checked out my A Murphy fig, yeah those are bespoke forearms. I guess HT don't bother with their female figs. :dunno

PS HT Alex Murphy, what an amazing sculpt, I still think its the best HT have done.

But looking at that same comparison photo, the prototype's neck length looks a bit ridiculous. Imagine if she wasn't wearing the jumpsuit, where the shoulders would be. We're talking Barbie-level realism there. The production figure, on the other hand, would look quite realistic sans jumpsuit. The collar buffs up the shoulders, but that doesn't necessarily mean she needs a mod.

It's not the head on the neck that is the issue here, it's the shirt. It rides up the neck on the production much further than on the proto there. The opening is about at the top of her shoulders if not higher and in the proto it's much lower. Also the proto has a nearly non existent collar and is a little more scooped than the production. If the shirt can be tugged down a bit, that should solve the problem.

Yeah you guys are probably right here. It's a matter of futzing.

Big thanks to I Am Toys for the review. Your shot of the headsculpt tells me everything I need to know. Dunno if it's the lowered bangs, healthier-looking paint app (as opposed to the sickly look that the prototype has), or softened sculpt, but the production piece is a massive improvement.

Honestly, I think it is a different sculpt to begin with. Even without upper eyelids, it's far closer to Weaver than what was officially solicited.

Interesting, because I'd take completely the opposite view, based on those comparison pics you've chosen. Left looks more immediately like Ripley; and look how much better the outfit is, too. No weird massive wonky stitch seam on the tshirt collar, the white shirt collar and position sits properly (and her neck seems longer too), the jumpsuit collar is better folded & finished (tho ironically in that proto shot it's sitting too high there)

Presumably (well, hopefully) some of those things are partly due to lighting on the sculpt & outfit preparation for the photos shot for the left. But, will be interesting to see what can be done to sort things like out once I have this in hand. The sculpt is what it is, and it'll have to do, but hope it should be possible to make the production outfit look & sit a little better with some futzing.
