Not. If. They. Refuse. To. Release. Figures. We. Are. Interested. In.

I believe it will be released. The question bothering us now is when. If it were cancelled, I strongly believe it would have been pulled from Sideshow's website. The fact that it's still there gives me hope. Hot Toys is seriously testing our patience, but in the end, if it's an AWESOME figure, all of this will be forgotten I think.

There's no possibility that this gets cancelled.

However, chances they just stop manufacturing them, and don't let anyone who pre-ordered know anything about it? Better than even chance. They'll handle this like they handled Milton on Office Space.

I really think they are just holding it back for a few weeks to coincide with the Blu-Ray releases to try and get some hype-buys.

The only thing holding this back does is cause more cancellations. Someone would be more apt to impulse buy or hype buy if it were actually available and not just a pre-order.

My bet is Sigourney Weaver is being a challenge and slowing everything down. The display card said pending both licenser and talent approval. I don't remember seeing that on any other display from HT.

But, if Weaver does hold some power of approval, she's signed off on multiple NECA, ReAction, etc. sculpts of the Ripley character - so I'd doubt there would be any issue here.

More likely, Hot Toys doesn't want to release another niche figure that will undoubtedly fall (far) short of the retail success now typical of their Iron Man, Star Wars, etc. lines. Once a company sees those kinds of numbers, and that potential for profit, what's the point in diverting time and resources away from the moneymakers?

^and this.

Quite simply they don't care about these older licenses anymore and I wish they'd not pretend otherwise. I wish they'd drop them altogether so that other companies can take them up. But of course they won't do that. They'll keep dangling carrots.

the only thing that bothers me is moneymoneymoney that i've paid long ago. to a middle party.
probably that's the reason i'm absolutely convinced it will be made one day. because otherwise i've been robbed for $240 or something :lol

I hope to hell the Wolf Predator 2.0 is solicited for preorder. That thing is guaranteed to get more bites in pre-production, so much so that they'll have no choice but to make it. Just give people the opportunity to click the button and they'll take it.

With Ripley, they screwed the pooch so many times prior to the actual solicitation that few cared or trusted enough to buy when it finally went up. If this figure wasn't clearly such a mess from the get-go, sales would've been more enthusiastic and the production more timely as a result.

Has anyone actually contacted HT and received a response from them?

Hopefully someone who has prepaid and demanded an answer/update.

This thread is just an absolute train wreck that you can't look away from. Does anybody come here anymore expecting anything good? I'm so desensitized at this point that I'm not sure I would even react if I read that she was finally released.
