So I took a bit of a break from ordering stuff. Focused mainly on the TDKR line and some DAM figures.

I cancelled all of the Avengers, but I'm tempted by this guy.

I have a little over 200 bucks in SS points so I could get this for basically 100 bucks.

Should I pull the trigger?

Yes. I didn't order any other avengers except mark vii, but I think hulk will be one to get just for its size.

Why rush? I think there will be enough to go around and wait on the in hands.

Their quantities are always based on the number of preorders they get, which could only be more or less 100 pieces/figure, and they open and close the pre-orders very early.

Our retailer had to outsource just so everyone could get their figures, but upon hearing the story the other retailers also fear that they might get a similar email from HT one day. Those who ordered more than one of an item were asked to give way.

HT says DX 12 and 11 are among the figures HT said would be cut short in quantity, along with some Avengers figures. I hope this won't affect any of you guys. It's just sad.

HT perhaps trying to put a bit more prestige back into their products?

Certainly hope people don't get cut at preorders. Last year apcollectibles.com decided not to fulfill my preorder for the Mark VI and I had to resort to ebay.

man I sure hope April comes around soon ( I say April because you KNOW HT is going to delay this a month after they say it'll be released)

:horror

Just a month?! That would be AWESOME :yess:

:rotfl:lol

I'm thinking 2-3 when they discover the arms aren't working, and they do a last minute change back to exposed joints. Like they did with Sheba, but in reverse :lol

Wow, I suspected they did that, but now I know for sure. Remember the inclusive edition sizes for early sideshow star wars figures? 10's of thousands?

I wonder what the actual edition sizes are on some of their marvel figures. Betting in the 15 - 20 k range. Possibly more on batman.

Could this possibly have something to do with the recent protests in China/Japan over the islands ? :dunno

Possibly. Though HT is hong kong based, cso they're less likely to suffer too much I think.
It's mostly Chinese vs Japanese.

Yeah I wouldnt wait too long.

I have just bitten the bullet on this with my friend and usual UK supplier and placed my order with him.

I am very pleased actually. He is doing it form for £260 UK. I did a quick break down of costing at SSC, and this is how it works out for buyers in the UK ordering direct...

$300.00 Cost of figure
$ 25.00 Cost of P+P
$325.00 Total

Converting to UK £ Sterling (which at today's rate...)

£197.00 Figure plus P+P
£ 39.40 Import Duty (V.A.T @ 20%)
£ 10.00 FEDEX 'Admin' charge

£246.40 Total.

I know that the rate changes daily so that is a variable, and I have made the assumption that the P+P will still be $25. This is probably wrong as this will be a bigger/bulkier/heavier figure. These two variables mean that in my opinion, the price has has quoted is good as it is close to the SSC but still puts a bit of cash my friend's way.

Yes, all-in-all I am quite happy now that I have POed HULK.

Now THAT's scary! I'm sooo glad I pre-ordered him early! I sure as hell don't want to pay scalper prices on eBay! Especially this figure.... He'll go for over $500 easily! :horror

I'd been saving my rewards points at Sideshow every since I heard HT was going to make this guy and after placing my order he was only $210.99 (US) plus shipping.

You could have ordered from OneSixthBruce in the UK. Hulk's still available to pre-order for £208.99 delivered.

I know I did, the minute he was listed! OSB FTW!

Yes, I appreciate the helpful tip, thanks guys. But ordering this big fella through my friend gives me a certain extra flexibility, not available with OSB or others. I am satisfied with how things are...even if it is perhaps a tad higher than usual.

Plus, I just wanted to show my US fellow freaks how things break down for UK buyers if they go through SSC directly.
