I think this figure looks great and want to get it but it's hard to get excited when it could be anywhere from 8-12 months away. Hot toys is so backed up. Rising prices and higher sales, not sure why they can't grow more internally to keep up and get things out closer to the movies.

This year's movie next year's figure. HT motto.

For those that have seen the film, how would you rate the quality of it? You know, alongside other MCU films? Is it top tier?

Top 5 for me, maybe in the top 3 (up there with Winter Soldier & Guardians of the Galaxy for me).

I liked it more than Ant-Man and that was in my Top 5.

So far it's

Captain America: Civil War
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Iron Man
Captain America: The First Avenger
Doctor Strange (Which just dethroned Ant-Man)

Always like to wait so the "new" wears off....but I liked it better than Antman, which was great.

I'd say my Top 5 is:

IronMan - set the bar
Avengers
GOTG
Winter Soldier
Dr. Strange (maybe Civil War?)

:dunno

Just got home from the theater. I really enjoyed the movie but not GotG good. I thought Ant-Man was better too

IMO not the very top tier (Ironman 1, CW, WS, Guardians, CA 1, Avengers) overall re DS to me having a few thin spots - for me especially near the end, but overall by comparison for me it's better than Thor 2 and some places in Ultron. But really, IMO there's not much to complain about re DS.

The movie didn't really have any flaws aside from another weak villain . I still want a mikkelsen sculpt with those crazy eyes. The Strange sculpt isn't the best imo. I can wait for the infinity war version

also, was there an Easter egg for that hammer tech drone operator who gets turned around in IM2?

Part of me really wants some sort of exclusive Astral Form version. XD

All the Astral Form scenes were easily my favorite parts of the movie hands down. Especially the last one...

I find it really hard to rank the MCU movies when people post their Top 5s

For me, Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy are both very high. Avengers is just a very, very good team superhero movie. Guardians totally took me by suprise. In fact I didn't even watch it at the movies. I kind of knew it was connected to the early Iron Man/Captain America movies, but I didn't really care. But I love watching it now after my first eventual viewing, and I laugh every time I do.

Age of Ultron clearly isn't quite as good, and Civil War is still really Avengers 2.5. Sure it is a Cap movie, but it really is as much about Tony, and as it has more 'superheros' than any other movie to date it is really hard to not think of it as an "Avengers"/team movie.

As action-thriller-dramas go, The Winter Soldier is the best of the whole series. And it is a good serious political drama contrast to some of the more comical fish out of water origin movies. Iron Man always sits high. It was a great movie with a great character before the "MCU" became a thing in a way. As viewers we compared it The Dark Knight, or Superman or other such superhero origin movies at the time. Fast forward almost a decade and now Dr Strange, Ms Marvel etc will all be compared to it.

As for ranking the origin movies, I find a lot of it depends on the character and the actor. They all follow pretty similar formulas. The big difference being Thor in that he gets a role reversal by being powerful and having his powers stripped and having to earn them back. Sequels are easier to critique

Would be top 5 for me. Favourite character in this one was for me The Ancient One, loved that opening sequence.

DS is really a film that had to be made when visual effects are at a high standard, it really does rely on it during this film.

Great movie, great figure. Can't wait to add it to my Marvel collection.

I was never a fan of Dr. Strange, but I could say the same for other big Marvel characters before the movies came along. I've been collecting Marvel comics, cards, and figures since 1991, but the films somehow really draw me into characters that didn't appeal before, like Iron Man and Thor. It was all about X-Men when I was a kid.
